Vintage 1973 World Mint Corp Prospector Silverado Round

In researching some background information on this silver round, I found out that it was selling for $48.10. I bought it for $18.00!

There were 3 left, and considering that there is an inventory of the silver round, it sure has gotten so pricey!

1973 World Mint Corp Prospector Silverado Round

The company mostly manufactured 5 oz silver bars, which were the most popular. They created bars that are 3 oz, 10 oz, and 100 oz in size and include the name "WORLD MINT" in addition to the globe-shaped corporate logo.

World Mint Corp were only known to have produced one round in their whole existence. They produced a 1 oz round in 1973 with their emblem on the reverse and a prospector on the obverse. Every item that World Mint Corp. produced was crafted using.999 Fine Silver.

This is an UNCOMMON silver round!

Obverse: The central image on the obverse depicts a prospector walking with his pack mule. The mountains loom in the background. Underneath the image is the text "ONE SILVERADO" with the date "1973" immediately underneath.

Reverse: The reverse features the logo of World Mint Corp, a stylized globe showing the continents of North and South America. An outer band containing text encircles the globe. At the top is the name of the mint "WORLD MINT CORP". The weight and fineness of "ONE TROY OUNCE .999 SILVER" is inscribed at the bottom. Sprigs of ivy are located on either side separating the inscriptions.

I was trying to remember the cost of the silver round @silversaver888 …🤔
So many of my rounds and bars were just stacked up until recently. I didn’t keep track of what I paid for them unfortunately Lol!😇
It does seem like there’s a whole new market on eBay that is way higher than our local coin shop would pay it if I ever did sell!😊

It is the only round that the mint produced! That is truly uncommon!
In 1977 the corporation became inactive.

That is a unique coin for sure and you got a great deal. When I started stacking my average coin was around $10. I have kept track of how much I paid for each and have a complete inventory for my children so they know what they are worth. Love seeing your coins.

Yes! I keep all invoices for my purchases and enter figures on those that come to me without invoices. This is my way of tracking my purchases of silver and gold. But that is about all I do with my stack, except that I keep them neatly in place, !LOL

It is neat since I sort of "save" the silver from being melted down into something else. A great find because, unbeknownst to me, the silver round has appreciated! At the very least... it is silver!!!
