Exploring the Charming Village of Sassetta

Hello dear friends,

It is with pleasure that I share with you this other exploration, even though those who have been following me for a while will immediately realize that I visited this village again last September. However, when I find myself near this place for work, I can't resist taking a stroll through the streets of this beautiful village called Sassetta.

We are in the hinterland of the Etruscan Coast, a place famous not only for its red marble known worldwide but also for its thermal waters. I must say that wandering through the cobbled streets of this beautiful place is always a beautiful artistic experience. You know well how much I love art and the fusion of modern art with a historical context of ancient villages.

I took some photos to share with you of what I saw during my exploration, and I must say that even here, it's a welcoming village. Occasionally, some works of art, probably created by local artists, would appear. Anyway, it's a beautiful place, and you can explore it thoroughly in just a couple of hours; there's no need to dedicate an entire morning to exploring this village.

By the way, I've never had the chance to try it, but around here, you can enjoy delicious wild boar. During the autumn period, you can taste excellent chestnuts and find some great mushrooms. I hope to find the time to try these local delicacies someday, even though I'm not a big fan of wild boar meat.

Returning to the history of this picturesque and extraordinary village, it has very ancient origins dating back to around the year one thousand, like many Tuscan villages. One of the painters I admire the most, the Gothic painter Sassetta, was born here. He is one of the most important painters in the Renaissance scene of the 15th century. Some may not be familiar with this name, but anyone who has studied art knows him well, and there are several works scattered throughout Italy.
