"I'm Still Here Bitch!"

F*ck you football, thank you very much!

I haven't recently had a very good luck as a supporter in football. Barcelona has been going down the gutter for a few years now. Argentina....well, ouch! They did win the Copa America just recently, but it's the world cup that really matters. And yesterday was another hard blow to the "final dance" of Lionel Messi, yikes.

I am not someone who goes hard into the Argentina-Brazil debates (more like catcalling at best) anymore. Or the Barcelona-Real Madrid one either. As a teenager, we had our fair share of "discussions" among friends. Facebook used to be our battlefield, where we could literally "CAPS LOCK" someone to death (or at least threaten them enough, so we thought!).

And even though I don't find it worth my time to engage in these pointless arguments of Argentina v Brazil anymore, I have to admit it's hard to not feel a slight pinch as people around me keep poking. But I have grown my defense to it over the years. I join in the poking myself. Somehow they soon abandon the "discussion" as soon as I join in, so rude.

To be fair though, Argentina and Brazil are not my/our countries. Support them that's all good. But why are we going to war over them? I would happily go to war of discussion to defend my country. But my country is not really good at football....or at cricket. Or at anything else for that matter!

Somewhere between staying up late till 4 a.m. for a champions league semi final or a La Liga el classico, to staying up till 4 a.m. trying to understand the differences between different coagulation disorders, we all grew up. It has been years I haven't engaged in the so called "debates." Didn't seem very important anymore. I had almost convinced myself it's all pointless and the passion was dead. But with a stab in the heart as Argentina conceded the second goal yesterday, the dormant passion reminded, "I'm still here bitch!"

So there you go, F*ck you football. Thank you very much!

Just think how good the Saudi team feels and will remember it for life though. Maybe inspire a new generation of players there. :)

Ecstatic! And funny thing is I know exactly how elated the fans feel right now. I've myself been there as a fan when our country bagged some unrealistic wins in Cricket. Things go into a state of trance and it lingers for a few days.

Lol. You get what you deserve if you don't raise the game. Argentina didn't have the hunger as they did not expect this to ever happen. The same story with Germany thinking they will just turn up and win as we know that is a very dangerous way to think. The reality is will the teams be motivated to improve next time around as they have no choice or they are going home.

I totally agree. They came out sleeping in the second half...not enjoyable to watch at all. No creativity at the middle, everyone was just waiting for messi to dig them out of trouble again. I hope this is a kick up their rear at the right time.

What's about Bangladesh? Bangladesh, Argentina & Barcelona all are falling down 😩. It's very hard for a fan.
