FOSS is objectively and statistically the better option in most cases!

Soon I'm going to change my daily driver laptop from Windows to Pure OS but a few of the options you listed are quite intriguing; Blend OS in particular — 9 in 1, a little bit of everything!

Great article, thanks for sharing 😀

Blend OS is going to be a little bit more complex than other operating systems and will be a little bit more bloated. Another great choice that is very difficult to learn is NixOS.

It is best to try out few operating systems first. The desktop environment can make a bigger change than the OS for some people. I am extremely happy with GNOME in Fedora. It took me some time to get used to. After the switch it is hard to go back to the old ways. KDE or Cinnamon should be an easier switch when coming from Windows.

Use https://distrowatch.com compare what is in each OS. I personally like to have the latest packages and Kernel. I'm using 6.7.9 already while some Distros ship with 5.x.x

Another big thing I realized was that most Distros are just Debian, Arch or Fedora with some modifications. Best of Luck!
