[Eng/Esp] Green beetle in my backyard / Escarabajo verde en mi solar

Today for the first time I publish in this interesting application Liketu. I have heard very good things about her, and I was encouraged to start uploading some posts here. And on this occasion, I bring you a nice friend, whose species inhabits my patio, and it is the Green Beetle also known as Cotinis mutabilis, and who unfortunately has a terrible reputation in some countries, they consider it a pest for crops, although I cannot speak badly of it, quite the contrary, it behaves wonderfully at home, since sometimes it is in the backyard and other times in the interior garden, which it is true that it pleases my eyes with its beautiful flight and its incredible metallic green color.

It is not the only time I have published about this insect, in fact, I think this is the fourth post in which I talk about it, but it is so beautiful and amazing that I think it deserves to be known, to be talked about.

Lately I have seen it near the trunk of the mamon (Melicoccus bijugatus), that is about to perish, I always see it there, perched on the surface or inside the tree. I can't be sure it is the same individual, but it is an adult green beetle, and I assume it is laying eggs and also eating some of the wood from the tree.

As you can see in the photos, I found it on top of an old piece of wood and wanted to take a closer look. It is a magnificent insect, and it is very tame, it does not sting, it does not bite. I held him for a long time on his improvised platform and he stayed still, without being scared, without moving, I suppose he felt that I didn't want to hurt him. I am grateful that this being lives in my backyard, it is a joy to see it.

Hoy por primera vez publico en esta interesante aplicación Liketu. Me han hablado muy bien de ella, y pues me animé a comenzar a subir algunos posts por aquí. Y en esta ocasión, les traigo un simpático amigo, cuya especie habita mi patio, y se trata del Escarabajo Verde también conocido como Cotinis mutabilis, y quien lamentablemente tiene una terrible fama en algunos países, que le consideran plaga para los cultivos, aunque yo no puedo hablar mal de él, pues todo lo contrario, se comporta de maravilla en hogar, ya que a veces está en el patio trasero y otras en el jardín interior, lo cierto es que me alegra la vista con su hermoso vuelo y su increíble color verde metalizado.

No es la única ocasión en que he publicado sobre este insecto, de hecho, creo que este es el cuarto post en el cual hablo de él, pero es que es tan bello y asombroso, que creo merece ser conocido, que se hable sobre él.

Últimamente lo he visto cerca del tronco del mamón (Melicoccus bijugatus), que está a punto de perecer, allí lo veo siempre, posado en la superficie o en el interior del árbol. No puedo asegurar que sea el mismo individuo, pero sí es un escarabajo verde adulto, y supongo estará ovipositando y también comiendo algo de la madera del árbol.

Como pueden ver en las fotos, lo encontré encima de un trocito de madera viejo y quise observarlo más de cerca. Es un insecto magnífico, y es muy manso, no pica, no es urticante, no muerde. Lo tuve largo rato sostenido en su improvisada plataforma y se estuvo quieto, sin asustarse, sin moverse, supongo que sintió que no quería hacerle daño. Agradezco que este ser viva en mi patio, es una alegría verlo.
