Injusticia racial / Racial injustice - Concurso en la Comunidad Ladies on hive # 144

Saludos chicas de Ladies on hive

Muchas gracias

Greetings Ladies on hive girls

I hope you are well, for this week's challenge I want to describe a little of what I have learned and know about racial injustice.

When I was assigned to study with my daughter about this topic I was very moved by how people of one skin color could discriminate against others just because their skin color was different from theirs.

Racial injustice is separation by skin color. It is a system that consists of implementing discriminatory laws and policies that seek to divide the population according to their color, assigning different rights and privileges to each one. It is strong to think that there was a time in the country of South Africa in the 1900s where there was a minority of white skin wanting to maintain its supremacy over a majority of non-white skin (blacks).

It is strong to think that blacks and whites had to live in separate residential areas for each group, for black communities these were always located far from urban areas and lacked basic services. Laws were enacted to justify discrimination in areas such as marriage, you could not marry someone with skin of a different color than your own. In education there were separate schools for each group. In employment with laws that limited opportunities for non-whites and reserved the most privileged jobs for whites. In recreational areas such as squares and parks, a white person could not be together with a black person.

I bring all this up as an introduction to better understand the subject. Thank God there was a strong fight against this, and today, although it is different, it is no longer lived as it was in those times, however we cannot think that this does not exist, there are places where injustices continue for being of a different color. Although at international level inclusion is being promoted in many areas this fight seems to continue for a long time, I have not particularly lived this type of discrimination but it is perhaps because I am in a Latin country where most of us are mestizos (mixed) that has made that we are not all white or black, but if I lived in a European or American country things could change.

I also remember episodes in my childhood where black people were seen as strange, but I was taught not to despise because of that, the only thing I can say is that many people of this color were made fun of, especially if they had white teeth, they were commonly called sorbetico by the little ants that were black on the packaging of cookies and television commercials.

Racial injustice is an issue of the heart in my opinion because God gave us all the same dignity and no one is more than anyone else because of their skin color, only that many believe they are superior for being white or black, that makes me think that even in our times black women can suffer contempt in their jobs or in social relations but because of the evil that is in the hearts of people, neither a black is more or less than a white and vice versa, until we understand that racial discrimination will continue.

Thank you very much

You've spoken well about this topic and it's disheartening to see people look down on one another because of their race, background and the likes.

Everyone ought to be treated equally and with respect, unfortunately reverse is what we have in the world today.

Well the change can only start from you and I to make the world a better place fit for everyone to stay.

If you are right it is something very unfortunate and while we do not learn we will continue to make the same mistakes not only in this particular issue but in others where contempt is involved. Thank you very much for reading and for your support and information.

Racial divide went deeper is you wish to use my country as an example, people were segregated into Tribes (homelands 10-Transkei, Bophuthatswana, Ciskei, Venda, Gazankulu, KaNgwane, KwaNdebele, KwaZulu, Lebowa, and QwaQwa), Indians in their own communities (separated within by their caste system/religion). Coloured folk where forcibly moved to 'their' areas (mestizos (mixed) also split within themselves depending on ancestory). Europeans (whites) were split between language, English and Afrikaans schools, churches.

A cruel system to say the least yet we endured, managed to break that stronghold, now entered a period currently of reverse Apartheid under new laws.

Many prefer living within their own communities worldwide, we must always keep in mind colour is skin deep, all should be respected, given equal opportunity, still sadly lacking in this world today.

To a better future, we must be vigilant of 'super powers' coming in taking away any form of rights fought for currently.

No one better than you can describe it, I found it very sad all this matter where human beings are belittled and even hurt "only" by their skin color, I thank you very much for your comment because it has deepened my thinking and research with realities that little is known.

I hope that these superpowers do not change what they have built, not only there but also in this part of the world where they want to force us to live and think under their own ideals. Once again I thank you

Human race appears to move from one sad situation, placing itself in the next.

Life is never easy, one thing I have noticed is people do enjoy their own, prefer living in areas where they feel welcome.

Have a wonderful day.
