Of Cliffs and Sunsets

This picture was taken at dusk at the cliffs of Rancho Palos Verdes , California overlooking the Pacific Ocean. Any emotions it evokes in you? For me, the ocean gives me a feeling of peace and tranquility, a yearning to sail into the horizon, explore the unknown.
The cliffs elicit guarded fear since I’ve always been a little acrophobic …afraid of heights.
The sunset, though magical and perhaps even romantic, makes me nostalgic and sad because it’s a farewell to the bright day that just passed, an end to a beautiful journey.
Nevertheless, sunset always gives the promise of a new day, and yes a new beginning!
