A year later and the moments I remember most from James Gunn Superman are not only the giant fights, it is David Corenswet making Clark feel like a decent guy, the little squirrel rescue, Krypto turning every command into a mess, and Superman refusing to become the kind of person Lex Luthor is. A best five list can move things around, but those smaller choices are why this version worked for me more than another two hours of angry gods punching buildings, Krypto alone did more for me than most cape fights this year, already thinking about a rewatch before whatever Gunn does next with this universe,
