Travel to the Beautiful Islands: Sabang, Rubiah Island

Traveling is one of the activities that make me feel happy and grateful for all the blessings that exist. In this post, I will share moments when traveling to one of the islands which are visited by many local or foreign tourists because of the beauty of the island and the sea, the place I visited was Sabang Island, Aceh, Indonesia.

Before heading to Sabang, we have to go to the port to order tickets because the available transportation routes to the island are only via regular ships and fast boats, my family and I chose to use a fast boat called Express Bahari with a ticket price of IDR 100,000/person.

The atmosphere on the ship that we boarded was clean, and each passenger seat has ample space, so large passengers won't feel cramped. The reason we went on this fast ship during the trip, the ship didn't sway too much like a regular ship, so those of us who had never been on a ship before would not experience seasickness and still feel comfortable on the trip.

Day 1

The trip from the port to Sabang City takes about 80 minutes if the weather is normal. When we are on board, the weather is good, and our journey is safe until we arrive at the port of Sabang City. Arriving at the port we were picked up by a travel car that would take us to the previously booked accommodation, from the port to the hotel in about 40 minutes.

Because I was tired from the trip, when I arrived at the hotel I immediately went in and jumped into bed, a few moments later I fell asleep until I forgot to put my stuff in. After resting, in the afternoon I came out of the hotel room to take some pictures of the scenery around the hotel, the name of the place where we were staying, namely Star Resort, which in my opinion, was very comfortable, quiet, and not noisy so that visitors felt relaxed to rest.

In the evening we ate at the restaurant at the resort where we were staying, the food menu served mostly consisted of fresh seefood cooked in various recipes like fried grouper in sweet and sour sauce, grouper grilled in soy sauce, squid and shrimp fried in flour with sweet and spicy sauce. After eating, I felt so sleepy and immediately went to my room to sleep. My journey continued the next day.

Day 2

I have a friend who lives in Sabang City, we made an appointment to meet and invite her to take me for a walk in Sabang City before my family, and I went to play on Rubiah Island snorkeling.

I was taken around the Sabang city monument area, I took some pictures of the surrounding scenery and I asked to be photographed at the monument that read "I Love Sabang", then I was invited to walk around the seafront surrounded by big and beautiful trees.

Then we were invited to one of the pillars that displays directions to several countries outside Indonesia and big cities in Indonesia, the pillar is shaped like a pointer that displays the name of the country or city and its distance from the location of the pillar.

Then I was asked to take a walk to a place called "Freddies Sky Walk", which is a resort that gives a view of the sea from a high view, in my opinion, the view is really beautiful and I enjoyed it.

After enjoying the scenery in the Sky Walk area I returned to the hotel because I had an appointment with my family, I said goodbye to my friend and rushed back to the hotel. Then our family and I prepared to go on the speedboat to Rubiah Island and do snorkeling in the sea near the island. There are several types of boats that you can choose for transportation to Rubiah Island, such as speedboats, glass boats, and wooden boats.

We enjoyed the experience of riding a speed boat while looking at the sea views, then we did snorkeling, and I liked seeing small fish in the sea swarming towards me, they looked relaxed and not bothered by my presence.
