Directors Cuts and STEEM Attitudes

avatar

If you are powering down your STEEM stash and buying HIVE with it, or at least some of it, then what are you now doing on the STEEM blockchain?

Ignoring it, shit-posting, or making the most of a diminishing opportunity to grab the swag and run?

image.png

...'as a HIVE person, are you looking and commenting on STEEM content anymore?'...

The difference in quality between my feeds is quite startling; I see a lot of shit-posting, while some like me are just posting older content from several years ago, while others are cross-posting their content.

The people I follow on STEEM are mostly moving to the HIVE but I have seen a couple of exceptions. It’s their choice and I won’t denounce anyone for making their own decision.

image.png

...'are HIVE auto-voters losing popularity or are we still adjusting to the new blockchain?'...

As far as voting is concerned, I am looking at less of the STEEM content than before, voting here and there at random if I have spare VP for any of my followers.

Not so for HIVE where I am finding votes are less being delegated to auto-voters than on STEEM. Are people being choosier or are auto-voters going out of fashion?

With the virus still in full force in the United Kingdom, it is having an impact on my content and stifling my Urban Exploration trips.

SML_Creepy.jpg

...'I hope to be visiting places such as AllSprings Mansion again soon, who wouldn't want to spend the night here?'...

I do have some more but with the continued lockdown I am drip-feeding this type of content on to HIVE (and NOT STEEM), slowly.

Over 2 years ago I wrote a lengthy series detailing my life working in a fucking awful supermarket, with oppressive tyrannical managers who loved to do nothing more than sit in the office drinking tea with their feet up while watching me slave away using a one-way window system.

Unknown to naive me at the time, it was written and posted far too early and gained some, but not that much of an audience.

image.png

For maybe a year now I have been writing about another part of my life when I was a fearsome pirate, err ripoff merchant of software, and part of a cracking group.

This will shortly end and I need to replace it with something else to bore you all to tears.

While a rehash may be better suited to STEEM with all its abuse resurfacing, I think my supermarket tales would be better re-written for HIVE as a special edition with extra content.

image.png
Source

...'Would you like to work here, every day for FOUR years. It was truly one of the highlights of my working life'...

Call it directors cut with the missing bit's that I can churn out of my head to add extra spice to the tale.

Would this be unethical considering my audience is quite a lot different than it was in April 2018?

Let me know what you think, and generally of the idea of ‘Directors cuts’ for special tales. I do think this content is too good for that other place, you know… STEEM.

I still have like eleven or twelve weeks to go. In the meantime I’m not shitposting over there, but copy/pasting my hive posts.

A little extra crypto at the end of the day doesn’t hurt, especially when I just intend to dump it for HIVE.

I think everyone has their own ideas about their handling of STEEM. I publically stated I am leaving, and though I haven't really left, no new content will ever be published there again by me.. and yes, the extra STEEM is a bonus!

It also happened to me that most of the people I followed on STEEMIT moved to HIVE

It's the case of a lot of us, I know only a few that are staying on STEEM and are selling their stash of HIVE.

I am rehashing old content on steem. Essentially to milk what is left of what was once my favourite platform. I don't see anything wrong with that and I don't see anything wrong with reworking content for here with bonus bits. You never know with some folks though!

I think after 2 years of writing I could improve this significantly. I have to admit I get some of my inspiration from what you do, though mine is probably more sardonically written.

The original ten-part series did have some comedy aspects but I know a lot of my current active followers never saw it.

Let's see what the rest say, that's if anyone pipes up!

Cheers mate, that's a lovely compliment!!

If they say anything, feck em. I doubt anyone will but you know what this place can be like :0)

I am quite looking forward to seeing it. I did laugh at quik save. I worked for NCP for many years so I feel your past pain.

Kwiksave, a true fucking nightmare, maybe the title could be changed to reflect my 'new version!'

I'm shamelessly milking Steem for all I can squeeze out of it - most of the proceeds are going to Splinterlands.

But why bother rehashing old content when you just take blurry photos?

I look upon it as a 100 days of shit-posts, then I'll kill it.

LOL, I honestly can say it takes just a few minutes to extract the old code with image references and re-post it with a few new remarks at the footer.

most of the proceeds are going to Splinterlands.

Still into that? I may sell out soon, very bored of it now.

Well... I know, I should not be doing so, but I am posting content on steem too... though I am HIVE supportor... why not anyway... until my steems are withdrawn, nothing to lose. Nothing illegal about it, considering any prospect of money is enticing thesedays and people do a lot of unscrupulous stuff worst than this... but I don't comment on Steem much... I don't have that urge...only comment on HIVE...

Anyway

Nobody cares anymore, and you can do what you like there. Cross-posting is common, as you say.. nothing wrong with that.

I'm mostly just milking by putting a link to my original post on hive. But probably gonna leave for good when my SP hits close to 0.

You should totally do that, you probably also improved a lot since then in your writing so why not just give it a go?

A couple of you have said OK to this now, so I will start pulling the old content down from STEEM. It was one of the first really major pieces of writing I did and enjoyed playing it all back.

To be honest, I'm still posting some shitposts through Appics there... the good thing is I don't have to think anymore if its quality is good or bad...of course, I will stop doing so when I received all the steem powered down...or maybe not, as far I can get anything from there

shit-posting, or making the most of a diminishing opportunity to grab the swag and run?

There’s a difference between those two? 😜

I tried to write a shitpost on Steemit and failed miserably, so now that series runs on both platforms.

My art I have only posted here, but I do miss some of the people who sayed behind especially Nyarlathotep, so I am considering double posting (he double posts also and comments on both networks, so...).

I am powering down my SP and moving it over here. I used to have this lame autovoter on steemvoter that didn't have any of the functionality I would like it to have. After starting all over here on Hive I have stopped voting for my own posts and are just manually voting again. It would be fine with an autovoter that could vote for the select few I know make good posts every time, but I will probably have to write it myself to satisfy my needs.

Only you would do those kinds of shitposts!

There are two I know of, both work but you are probably aware anyway.

I mainly use APPICS and the posts go there. It resembles shitposting but, it's just the nature of APPICS. I've also been dabbling with APPICS videos. With APPICS, I'm more interested in the APX tokens than Steem. I'm not on any big whale or curation project auto-vote anyway, so I don't get upvoted like other people there.

I also recently realised that DTube can send the same video to both chains! I'm actually primarily a video guy, so I'll be doing more of that..

In terms of my Steem, I'm powering down and taking everything out of there. I think the platform is in danger of being screwed up by the inexperienced devs. Mind you, they seem to have slowed down a bit with the madness.

They have, for a while the stakes were getting higher by the day!

Honestly, I just can't be bothered with Steem. I'm in full powerdown mode, I can get my stake out fast enough and I'm spending it all on Splinterlands cards.

I totally have no problem with people posting all content there or cross-posting, but personally my heart just isn't in it... I'm too forward-focused and now that I've decided Steem isn't in my future I just can't.

It is interesting how quickly I've pivoted away from my very favourite platform. I used to love it so much and now I barely give it any thought.

It is the same for many of us, but for good reason.

I still publish on Steemit; however, there are days that are not so good because most of the whales migrated to Hive and on the other hand, it is difficult to maintain a decent reward average that corresponds to the effort and dedication.

There's nothing I would do by voting for this interesting publication, so I'm going to reschedule it and post it on my blog.

Greetings

Many of the Chinese and Korean communities are still on STEEM. The trouble is I know very few of them, and I guess that goes for you too. After what's happened it would not matter, I would not stay there.

I should looks at posting some of my other stuff on Steem. I had a bunch of stuff that was far ahead of its time (and my upvotes). It would probably do much better today! The jump in the price of Hive led me to exchange my Steem for a different crypto yesterday.

Very understandable, I would do the same. I got lucky and got 7500 HIVE at the 11c price, just 2 days ago.

Supermarket tales should be interesting.
I got banned from a big chain of supermarkets. Not my fault that some rich kid wanted to race me with a trolley. I shouldered his cart groceries and all in a sharp turn and he ran into a softdrinks stand.
Needless to say that there was bedlam al over, as the bottles tried to make their way out of the front door Lol.

I place the odd post in steem now and then, but the votes on the posts remind me of the time that we started out in 2017. A record .69 cents for a good post. Powerdown still have some way to go.

Take care my friend!

Hehe... sounds like a good tale, surely that one store and not the entire chain? Did they have photographs of you given to all the doormen?

Hahaha, no, we didn't have a car and as a youngster that one store was my whole world my friend.
Would have fancied the idea of my photo being stuck up in all of the stores nationwide Lol.

But it was in 60's and the communication systems were not that great in the third world.

Hope that you guys have a good weekend.
Take care!

I think a director's cut of the Kwiksave stories would be fabulous! They were good the first time round and I think you should introduce them to a new audience.

I have just been always wary of doing auto vote. I like to see what I am voting on.
