"An educated child smiles, learns and shows gestures of empathy with his environment."

The world would have fewer problems if all individuals from a young age could have access to education, values and recognition of others in love, especially with a heart educated in faith.

But many times the system fails, families become dysfunctional environments and individuals defend themselves trying to survive, so childhood is lost and so is the future of men, that is why it is important to act in the present moment.

Children have the advantage that their learning apparatus is linked to their development, therefore, it will be easier to absorb all the necessary knowledge imparted in their different environments, they are natural sponges.

It is no secret that as parents we must make sure to integrate our children to the most suitable educational system, sometimes we can find schools and institutions that offer in their academy a highly qualified staff, and then we can be confident, but sometimes there are failures, we must be vigilant.

It happens that nowadays it seems that most people consume more time or we consume more time in things other than learning, we become a society with little general culture.

This is worrying because everything we learn is what we use in our existence, for example, if someday we have to talk about physics or space for example, it would be interesting to know the book "The Cosmos", for example, or if we have to visit an art gallery or exchange opinions about a famous work, we should be able to know what we are talking about or who we are talking about.

In other words, education is more than a programmatic content to which different areas of knowledge are attached, it is an accumulation of knowledge of general culture that we must strengthen in our children.

Just a personal anecdote in this regard I lived yesterday with my little daughter, with an event that starred; I must clarify that she has begun to develop their own interests among these art, to me this interest seems great, my opinion before purely academic at this stage has changed, now I lean more towards the importance of creativity and cognitive.

So in some opportunities my daughter has read about some art artists, sometimes she has exchanged opinions with contemporary artists through social networks, because in social networks "not everything is bad" if we guide our children.

What happened was a comment of an experience of my daughter at school, she tells me that a space of two hours assigned to another curricular unit was shared in the school library, where a new girl performs the functions of librarian.

This comment is not inclined to belittle another person, much less is it a kind of mockery, although I must confess that I made a tweet about it. The following happened:

My daughter asked the attendant about a book whose cover was distinguished with the name "Picasso", obviously my little girl knows the nationality and origin of this artist, but her question was about the content of the book, it happened then that the girl in charge answered her that the book was about a Venezuelan painter where he showed some of his works.

My daughter, out of politeness, kept silent, withdrew and sat down at some of the tables, this time drawing for a while.

Should she have corrected the attendant?

Respect is also part of the general culture, and sometimes people are not prepared to be corrected by the children, so in order to avoid a conflict I thought it was right that my little girl did not make any observation, I will take this as a pending point in some face-to-face meeting where I will surely highlight the value of general culture also in these new people who are the relief that is beginning its work in the school.

There is a premise that says: "it is never too late to learn", so you have to give the girl a chance too, maybe curiosity will make her take the book in her hands and she will certainly learn about "Pablo Picasso".

The important point is that there is a lot to learn, while we should not saturate our children with everything they need for life, step by step we can show them those important things to know.

For example, we can access to some interactive quizzes of general culture and develop them together with our little ones, for example, there is an option in the official page of "Muy Interesante" that seems to me quite valuable and I would recommend it.

The good and beautiful thing is that by teaching our children a little bit of general culture we also learn, we reinforce some things that perhaps with time we may forget, that is to say, we also win.

So let's be better people, friends, teachers, parents and enjoy everything that exists in the universe that we have inherited, a universe full of knowledge for other generations.
