As you lay your bed, so you must lie on it

As children, we were told stories of good and bad. Our teachers and mothers painted stories about the outcome of doing good and being a good child against that of bad.

They told us folklore's and folktale's to help us understand our customs, traditions and the importance of community.

They also tried in their own way to show us that our destinies are in our own hands. We were told and shown examples that when we take our time to dress our bed with clean and neat bedspread, we would sleep soundly and comfortably on smooth surface.

Similarly, we were also told that when we lay a dirty and ruffled bedspread, we would experience nightmares and discomfort.

So we've been made to be aware of these two realities. But since this power is in our own hands, we decided which bedspread we wanted and then sleep on it.

The outcome is what we are currently facing in our various lives. We are the architect of our lives and are living the design we gave it.

Everyone has equal chance to tap from the opportunities out there. While some took their chances and make the best of their choices, others jokingly or through unseriousness missed theirs by making wrong choices.

No one ever reaps what he did not sow. Your input determines your output. If you give life your best, you will get the best out of it.

Success don't happen by chance, it happens due to the amount of time and resources you put into it.

You can't sleep at home and expect money to always come looking for you.

You can't sleep and be idle during raining season while others are busy planting crops and then expect to harvest when they are harvesting.

You can't be useless to yourself by sitting at home doing nothing while your mate are busy studying, learning skills or trade and then expect to be in their class.

If you give your life more attention, do things at the right time, hustle like everybody and plan, you can be sure of a better tomorrow.

Life is about give and take. What you give it, you get in return when the time comes.

Life is not a race of who runs fast but a race of who wants to be relevant and somebody in life.

Your best competitor is yourself. You have to wake up everyday and try to be better than who you were yesterday.

If you truly want to lie on a smooth bed, you gat to will it, work towards it and give it all you gat.

Remember, if it is rough, you lie on it and if it is smooth, you also lie on it. So make your choice!
