Education they say, is the best legacy. We are advised to study right from the time we were very young.

In today's educational system, a child as young as 1 year is already sent to school. The school system has name they call the child class.

While we all know that these children have no business in school, their parents take them there anyways.

Before now, if one is 6-year old and his hand can reach his ear from right to left across his head, they he will be admitted to school. But today, such factor is irrelevant. Every parent just want their children to be in school as quick as possible, wasting resources that is not there.

As they grow, they were told to always come first. Their parents encourage and promise them gifts if they come home with first position.

The children, being children see the goodies attached to coming first in class. They read, did all they could and if they make it, they get their rewards. If not, they get scolded by their parents.

In schools, teachers show others how they love and appreciate the ones who could meet up as against those who couldn't.

By so doing, these people create different set of people. The children are in a class but have been classed and grouped by their teachers - in their brains.

This made way for unhealthy competition for who comes first and who comes last. These children classified as best see themselves to be important and sometimes separate themselves from the rest of the class.

They feel they have made it in life. This idea go so deep in them and as they grow, they continue to live under such illusion.

The system creates a sense of competition. It makes them want to be first in everything in life.

We often deceive ourselves that life is not about competition. We know it is. We can play ignorant and act like it doesn't matter but the truth is everything is competition.

Yeah, we tell ourselves don't compete with anyone, we know it is a joke because we've been told to compete from a very tender age.

Those who lack the intellectual capacity to cope with this unreal reality tend to suffer more as they fee useless or unimportant.

Can we blame them? When they try hard to read and study but it refused to sink in for them to make any reasonable sense of it to even pass their exams.

As it was argued in an India movie titled 'The Three Idiots', i also believe this unhealthy competition is unnecessary.

It is responsible for many problems we face today. The grade system is faulty and should be checked.
