Route with streams and great city views [ENG-ESP]

When it is very hot in the city, escaping to the coolness of the forested mountain is a great option, of course, if there are such spaces where you live. In the capital of Venezuela, Caracas, it is very easy to do this because there is the Waraira Repano or Avila National Park, an extensive area that allows people to enjoy nature through many hiking trails.

Cuando hace mucho calor en la ciudad, escaparse hacia la frescura de la montaña boscosa es una magnífica opción, claro, si donde vives hay espacios así. En la capital de Venezuela, Caracas, es muy fácil hacer esto porque existe allí el Parque Nacional Waraira Repano o Ávila, una extensa área que le permite a la gente disfrutar de la naturaleza a través de muchísimas rutas de senderismo.

This time I went with a group of hikers to the Sabas Nieves I Ranger Station, which is in the area of Altamira, to do a route that passes through several streams and waterfalls, which although they don't have very deep pools, it is possible to cool off there. The one you see in the first two photos is the Quintero Stream.

En esta oportunidad fui con un grupo excursionista hasta el Puesto de Guardaparques Sabas Nieves I, que queda por la zona de Altamira, para hacer una ruta en la que pasas por varias quebradas y cascadas, que aunque no tienen pozas muy hondas es posible refresacarse allí. La que ven en las dos primeras fotos es la Quebrada Quintero.

The trail continues and suddenly the city appears as the vegetation becomes less dense at some points.

El sendero sigue y de repente aparece la ciudad cuando la vegetación se hace menos densa en algunos puntos.

Walking among nature gives happiness to people of all ages 😊.

Caminar entre la naturaleza da felicidad a la gente de todas las edades 😊.

Although Caracas has about 5 million inhabitants and a lot of cement, it also has a lot of greenery. When you get away from it a bit and look at it from a place like this mountain, you appreciate it better.

Aunque Caracas tiene como 5 millones de habitantes y mucho cemento, también posee mucho verdor. Cuando te alejas de ella un poco y la observas desde un lugar como esta montaña, lo aprecias mejor.

We continued walking and a little more than half an hour later we came across another stream, which is known as Pajaritos.

Seguimos caminando y poco más de media hora después nos topamos con otro arroyo, el cual es conocido como Pajaritos.

I loved how the moss looked on the rocks and the color of the water that looked like tea, by the way it was super cold.

Me encantó cómo se veía el musgo en las piedras y el color del agua que parecía té, por cierto estaba súper fría.

We had already climbed a long way and after a while we left the wooded area, from here the view of the city becomes more and more incredible.

Ya habíamos subido bastante y luego de un rato salimos del área boscosa, a partir de aquí la vista de la ciudad es cada vez más increíble.

Finally we arrive at Piedra del Indio (Indian Stone), a rock 1,600 meters above sea level where many people stop to take pictures with the big city in the background.

Finalmente llegamos a la Piedra del Indio, una roca a 1.600 metros sobre el nivel del mar a donde mucha gente se para a tomarse fotos teniendo de fondo a la gran urbe.

To return to the city we went down through the Cachimbo Ranger Station, in total it took us about four and a half hours to complete this route.

Para regresar a la ciudad bajamos por el Puesto de Guardaparques de Cachimbo, en total nos tardamos unas cuatro horas y media en completar esta ruta.
