Algo de rato libre tras el trabajo [ESP-ENG]
Ay la catedral de Maturín, tan maravillosa como famosa, y tan frecuente como redundante. No es la primera vez que voy, pero sí la primera en la que logro fotografiarla bajo un cielo de noche esplendido, medio nublado y medio despejado. Estas fotografías no iban a existir porque no fue mi intención ir a tomar fotos, solo quería sentarme un rato y disfrutar de la vista y el frío agradable en una ciudad donde usualmente el calor te convierte en un manantial de sudor.
Me acompañó una amiga. A ambos nos habían despedido del trabajo. No estábamos ahí porque nos sentíamos tristes, más bien, estábamos felices porque o sea, tras largos meses de una ardua jornada laboral, atendiendo gente que nos preguntaba hasta por la función de los tornillos (trabajábamos en una ferretería), era lógico que nuestro estado de anímo estaba como la fiebre alta. Ella no quiso fotografiarse, yo tampoco quería, pero de alguna forma lo hice.
Había gente alrededor; un niño estaba jugando con un perrito pero lo zarandeaba tanto que mi amgia casi se levanta del banco y lo regaña. ¡Los niños no se regañan! Los de al lado pensaban que éramos una pareja y, como estaban vendiendo helados, querían promociar su sabor para enamorados. Les dije que ella era mi novia -cosa que no es cierta- pero el dolor en sus muelas no le permitía comer cosas frías. Ella me golpeó. Igual no compramos nada porque no nos habían pagado nuestra liquidación -excusa para no comprar helados- (😂).
Fue una ocasión bastante agradable. Después que culmina una etapa laboral exigente, uno se da la libertad de descansar un poco. Ya luego vendrá la preocupación de buscar empleo en un país donde no hay empleos, o donde te quieren explotar por un sueldo de limosna. ¿Vale la pena preocuparse? ¡No! De alguna forma u otro, lo bueno siempre llega.

Cuando llegamos estaba casi vacío. La gente suele pararse en la plaza a tomar aire fresco, en una ciudad que suele ser muy calurosa.

Al llegar la noche, fui bajando la iluminación del lente de la cámara para contrastar mejor las luces de la catedral y la luna. -Práctica de un inexperto en la fotografía :P-

Conversamos largo rato allí, y luego, en lugar de ir a comer helados, fuimos por unas cervezas -material para otro post, :P- ¡Y no había dinero para helados pero sí para cerveza XD!
Y aunque antes ya he visitado esta catedral, puedo decirles con seguridad que es la primera vez que puedo capturarla danzando con la luna.
ENGLISH VERSION
Ah, the Maturín Cathedral, as marvelous as it is famous, and as frequently seen as it is redundant. It's not my first time there, but it is the first time I've managed to photograph it under a splendid night sky, half cloudy and half clear. These photographs weren't going to exist because my intention wasn't to take pictures; I just wanted to sit for a while and enjoy the view and the pleasant coolness in a city where the heat usually turns into a fountain of sweat.
A friend accompanied me. We had both been laid off from our jobs. We weren't there because we felt sad; rather, we were happy because, well, after long months of a grueling workday, serving customers who asked us about everything, even the function of screws (we worked in a hardware store), it was only natural that our moods were as high as a fever. She didn't want to be photographed, nor did I, but somehow I did.
There were people around; A little boy was playing with a puppy, but he was shaking it so hard that my friend almost got up from the bench and scolded him. Kids don't scold each other! The people next to us thought we were a couple, and since they were selling ice cream, they wanted to promote their "lovers" flavor. I told them she was my girlfriend, but her toothache prevented her from eating cold things. She hit me. We didn't buy anything anyway because we hadn't received our severance pay (😂).
It was a pretty pleasant occasion. After a demanding work period ends, you give yourself the freedom to rest a little. Then comes the worry of looking for a job in a country where there are no jobs, or where they want to exploit you for a pittance. Is it worth worrying? No! One way or another, good things always come.

When we arrived, it was almost empty. People often stop in the square to get some fresh air in a city that is usually very hot.

We talked there for a long time, and then, instead of going for ice cream, we went for some beers—material for another post, :P-
And although I've visited this cathedral before, I can say with certainty that this is the first time I've been able to capture it dancing with the moon.
