¿La apariencia importa? [ESP - ENG]

Siempre he oído que la belleza no importa... y es cierto cuando se trata de aceptación y amor propio. Pero, lo que si es cierto, es que no podemos usar esto para descuidar nuestra apariencia, que en cierta forma, habla mucho de que tanto te quieres, o que tanto buscas destacar ese amor que sientes por ti. Ejemplo:

Si tienes la oportunidad de asistir a una entrevista de trabajo, ¿Cómo te vestirías? ¿Te pondrías perfume? ¿Te reducirías la barba? ¿Te harías un corte de cabello?

Muchas personas se fijan muchísimo en la apariencia para elegir al personal de una empresa. Cuestiones simples como la higiene o la vestimenta pueden marcar tu éxito al momento de desarrollarte con otras personas, ser simpático para otros o incluso llamar la atención. ¡No estoy exagerando! Se trata de cuidar mucho la apariencia, no confundiéndola con etiquetas o estereotipos de gente fresa. Lucir bien debe ser sumamente importante para ti, todavía más si interactúas con otras personas o eres parte de algún proyecto importante.

Pondré en ejemplo muy simple: una anécdota de mi papá.

Una vez, asistimos a un seminario de emprendedores. Cuando llegamos al evento, mi papá se dio cuenta de que el conferencista, tenía zapatos viejos y ropas bastante ordinaria. Al instante, me dijo:

"Vámonos, este tipo es un charlatán".

Yo insistí para que nos quedáramos, pues el tema me gustaba bastante y le dije a mi papá que la apariencia no importaba, sin detallar que apariencia y belleza son cosas bastante distintas. Lo cierto es que, aunque el conferencista tenía una buena oratoria, todo el mundo lo catalogó como un loco estafador. Recomendación extra: no vayan a dar conferencias con barbas largas y bermudas cortas, jajaja.

Lo cierto es que, siempre busco cuidar mi apariencia,pues refleja mucho de ti, de como cuidas tu higiene, de cómo te amas y etc. Por eso, no dudo en ir a la barbería y vestir bien... No saben cuánta diferencia hace. Lol.

But, what is true is that we cannot use this to neglect our appearance, which in a way, speaks volumes about how much you love yourself, or how much you seek to highlight the love you feel for yourself. If you have the opportunity to attend a job interview, how would you dress? Would you wear perfume? Would you reduce your beard? Would you get a haircut?

Many people pay a lot of attention to appearance when choosing a company's staff. Simple issues such as hygiene or clothing can mark your success in getting along with other people, being nice to others, or even attracting attention. I'm not exaggerating! It's about taking great care of your appearance, not confusing it with labels or stereotypes of cool people. Looking good should be extremely important to you, even more so if you interact with other people or are part of an important project.

I will give a very simple example: an anecdote about my dad.

Once, we attended an entrepreneur seminar. When we arrived at the event, my dad noticed that the speaker had old shoes and rather ordinary clothes. Instantly, he told me:

"Let's go, this man is a liar."

I insisted that we stay, because I liked the topic a lot and I told my dad that appearance did not matter, without detailing that appearance and beauty are quite different things. The truth is that, although the speaker had good oratory, everyone classified him as a crazy scammer. Extra recommendation: don't go to give conferences with long beards and short shorts, hahaha.

The truth is that I always try to take care of my appearance, as it reflects a lot about you, how you take care of your hygiene, how you love yourself and etc. That's why I don't hesitate to go to the barbershop and dress well... You don't know how much difference it makes. Lol.
