Another Sunday in a Cafeteria, I show you a little bit of MILHOJAS CAFÉ - Otro domingo en una Cafetería, te enseño un poco de MILHOJAS CAFÉ 👌☕[Esp-Eng]

Visite esta cafetería por primera vez hace ya muchos años, recuerdo que no tenía mucho tiempo de inaugurada y fui con una amiga conocerla, luego desarrolle el habito de comprar allí el desayuno: Una empanadas horneadas de ricota y espinacas con un vaso gigante de té de Jamaica, literalmente comía eso allí cada vez que iba, mínimo tres veces por semana. En esa época era un espacio muy concurrido, sobre todo en los desayunos, era uno de los cafés más Tops de la ciudad.

Recuerdo también que en una ocasión participe en la filmación de un video clip musical y que algunas de las escenas más relevantes fueron allí. De esos tiempos también recuerdo haber comprado muchos trozos de torta, sobre todo la Red velvet que era realmente una delicia.

I visited this coffee shop for the first time many years ago, I remember that it had not been opened for a long time and I went with a friend to visit it, then I developed the habit of buying breakfast there: A baked ricotta and spinach empanadas with a giant glass of Jamaica tea, I literally ate there every time I went, at least three times a week. At that time it was a very busy place, especially at breakfast, it was one of the top cafes in the city.

I also remember that on one occasion I participated in the filming of a music video clip and that some of the most relevant scenes were there. From those times I also remember buying many pieces of cake, especially the Red velvet that was really a delight.

Yo solía visitar cafeterías constantemente con mis amigos buscando lugares chéveres donde pasar una tarde de tertulia, chistes, lecturas, reuniones y cualquier actividad que todos los que somos amantes del café solemos promover en Cafeterías y este era en definitiva un punto de encuentro.

I used to visit coffee shops constantly with my friends looking for cool places to spend an afternoon of chatting, jokes, readings, meetings and any activity that all of us who are coffee lovers usually promote in coffee shops and this was definitely a meeting point.

"MILHOJAS Café y Pastelería" / "MILHOJAS Café and Pastry Shop".

La visite hace unos domingos atrás cuando mi novio – No tomador de café – Me dijo: “¡Te quiero llevar a tomar un cafecito sabroso!” Y bueno, podrás imaginarte lo divino que es que alguien que no consume café sepa que es uno de los “rituales” que más disfruto me haga una invitación así, no es primera vez pero es sencillo y encantador para mí. De inmediato le pregunte “Aja ¿A dónde me vas a llevar?” me dijo con seguridad “a Mil Hojas pues” la verdad me causo gracia y ternura el hecho de que haya prestado atención unos días atrás cuando mencione de forma trivial que allí el café siempre era mejor que en casi cualquier lado de la ciudad.

Le dije que sí, pero que no quería café porque había tomado mucho ese día, sin embargo, al llegar a la cafetería todo lo que quería era mi buena taza de café.

I visited it again a few Sundays ago when my boyfriend - not a coffee drinker - told me: "I want to take you for a tasty coffee!" And well, you can imagine how divine it is that someone who does not drink coffee and knows that it is one of the "rituals" that I enjoy the most makes me an invitation like this, it is not the first time but it is simple and charming for me. I immediately asked him "Aja Where are you going to take me?" he said confidently "to Mil Hojas then" the truth caused me grace and tenderness the fact that he had paid attention a few days ago when I mentioned in a trivial way that the coffee there was always better than almost anywhere in the city.

I told him yes, but that I didn't want coffee 'cause I'd had too much that day, however, when I got to the coffee shop all I wanted was my good cup of coffee.

Creo que la mayoría por aquí debe saber que es una Milhojas, sin embargo existe la posibilidad de que no así que les voy a ilustrar un poco: es un postre de origen francés con forma rectangular que consta de unas capas de hojaldre rellenas de crema pastelera, yo las he visto hasta de cuatro capas. Y como sabemos, el Hojaldre consta de muchísimas capas para su elaboración, así que por esto este famoso pastel se llama así.. Lo que me llamo la atención fue que en esta ocasión con lo conseguí en el café, entonces no comimos Milhojas en Milhojas jajaja, pero… continuo…

I think most people around here should know what a Milhojas is, however there is a possibility that they don't so I am going to illustrate a little: it is a dessert of French origin with a rectangular shape that consists of layers of puff pastry filled with pastry cream, I have seen them up to four layers. And as we know, the puff pastry consists of many layers for its preparation, so this is why this famous cake is so called. What caught my attention was that this time I got it in the cafe, so we did not eat Milhojas in Milhojas hahaha, but... I continue....

Estando allí pensé en que degustar una marquesa, pero termine pidiendo un cappuccino y una palmerita gigante.

Being there I thought about tasting a marquise, but I ended up ordering a cappuccino and a giant palmerita.

Ambos estaban espectaculares, puedo decir con toda libertad que con lo que probé no sentí diferencia a hace unos años atrás, siguen manteniendo calidad y excelente sabor.

Both were spectacular, I can freely say that with what I tasted I felt no difference from a few years ago, they still maintain quality and excellent flavor.

Luego nos pusimos a conversar acerca del café y recordamos una ocasión en Bogotá en la que me llevo a una cafetería muy particular donde probé uno de los mejores cafés de mi vida (justo ahora no recuerdo el nombre) y por allí dimos larga a una conversación acerca del café en la que termine enseñándole los tipos de café e incluso aprendiendo algunas otras cosas que no sabía.

Then we got to talking about coffee and we remembered an occasion in Bogota in which he took me to a very particular coffee shop where I tasted one of the best coffees of my life (just now I do not remember the name) and there we gave long to a conversation about coffee in which I ended up teaching him the types of coffee and even learning some other things I did not know.

En resumidas cuentas el lugar sigue siendo muy agradable. Aparte de nosotros solo estaban unas tres personas más, no sé qué tan común sea eso ahora allí. Pero el ambiente, la música, la atención estuvo excelente.

Al final quedamos en comprar unos dulces para el día siguiente, pero decidimos que no por temas infelices de dietas jajajaja.

All in all the place is still very nice. Apart from us there were only about three other people, I don't know how common that is there now. But the atmosphere, the music, the service was excellent.

At the end we agreed to buy some candy for the next day, but we decided not to because of unhappy diet issues hahahaha.
