Curious repair Aiwa CX-LX7U [Eng+Spa]

Greetings to all, very happy to be sharing once again with you. I promised to post more often in this community and little by little I'm on it.

This time it is a repair that I have been working on, it is not in itself a very old equipment, as I usually do. Surely it will seem a bit strange repair, I warn you now. Even so, it is really simple and entertaining.

The equipment in question is an Aiwa model CX-LX7U, this equipment came into my hands from a good friend that I respect and admire a lot. That he was kind enough to put it at my disposal and without hesitation I took it (he is an Aiwa).

The connections for the horns or loudspeakers were damaged, but I made the change before thinking of writing about it (the green circle), so I didn't take pictures of the process, sorry for that. The interesting thing about the matter is that when I connected it to the electrical outlet I could not turn it on.

It is not the first time that I come across a device that was saved at some point, without malfunctioning, and at the time when it comes to turning it on it does not work. It is the strange and common case, that a piece of equipment is damaged without using it in storage, which worked well.

For the explanation of the general work method that I apply in the service and to put them a little in context, I will comment now: When I studied and did my internship I worked in a company in which the specialists were German, they are very methodical and efficient people.

I learned and got used to following a logical sequence of steps to repair equipment and, if possible, trying to understand what caused the failure. In order to have a plan with the idea of repairing it before it happens. (which in other companies in which I work around here, is considered crazy)

So following the sequence of steps I started with the basics in all repairs: the power cable and connector, which was of very good quality.

I disassembled the equipment and followed the cable to the part where it reaches the power supply, the welds are not cracked, the failure of the welds is a more common fault than you can imagine.

Connect the appliance outlet to the breadboard with the short circuit detector, nothing is present and I have the proper voltage.

So now I must continue with the output of the source, measure that the connections of the equipment are not crossed and prevent turning on the equipment and all the ordered sequence of steps.

But something happens that I don't know if it's common from where you can read me: after you have about ten years or more having experience doing a job, in some way you develop an instinct, let's say, to call it in some way. Or some kind of inner voice, I don't know how to explain it really.

It is as if the device itself indicated the fault, and it is something that collides a bit with my methodical and orderly way of working. And when I get ready to continue disassembling to find the fault, that feeling is there, and naturally, but automatically, without reasoning, I find myself adjusting the 401 connector, for no reason.

The fact is that later I try the equipment and it turns on without problems, it has been one of the simplest repairs in my workshop. I have to test the record player for a few hours to make sure I can move another piece of equipment to the workbench to repair or restore.

For now, I apply the wash with alcohol and a brush to improve the appearance.

I thought it would be a longer and more laborious job, but it really wasn't complicated at all, it's more of a mysterious anecdote.

Thank you very much for stopping by and reading me on this curious repair.

I have used google translate for english language.
The images unless indicated are captures taken in my workshop.

Have a very good rest and that next week be full of encouragement and will to challenge the challenges that life has prepared for us.

Peace everyone.

Good work. Repair of such old devices can not be a easy task. And it is very good to bring them back to life.
