Special thanks go to Hivenaija for giving me this opportunity to write, earn, and learn, it is a great opportunity that cannot be joked with, God bless them. Thanks again.

WHAT IS A MYTH?
A myth is a traditional story that embodies a belief regarding some fact or phenomenon of experience, and in which often the forces of nature and the soul are personified; a sacred narrative regarding a god, a hero, the origin of the world,d or a people, etc.

There are several myths and I'm opportune to listen to some told to me by my grandmother, father, and mother which I believed when I was a little kid it looked true but I later learned that it was never true.

The first myth that can never escape my memory, even though I was little, is the one that my grandmother told me that if you carry mortar on your head, no matter how small it is, you will gradually become short and as small as I was, I quickly believed it.
I followed this myth strictly, not placing mortar or even allowing anyone to place it on my head, but later I realized that it was not true to even an inch.

Another one is pointing your finger at a person's grave. Hahaha " I almost let go"
I was walking with my mother to the market and we walked past our relative's grave, I tried to show the grave to my mother because my mom wasn't looking that way, I pointed at the grave but when my mom turned, she screamed, saying that I should not point at the grave so that my finger would not shrink. I was awestruck and I withdrew my hand as quickly as I could, even to the extent of crying at home because I was afraid of my hand shrinking.
When I was advanced in age, I learned that it wasn't true and I laughed at myself because I was overwhelmed by the myth.

The next one is during the planting season.
I went with my dad to the farm on a Saturday morning without eating that morning. Before we started, my dad told me not to plant the seeds because I had not eaten before coming, I was shocked because I'd never heard anything like that before.
I realized, many years later that it wasn't true at all and I laughed at my stupidity.

Finally, sometimes, our parents deceive us with stories that aren't true at all and we had no option but to believe them when we were little but in due course, we learned that they weren't true at all.
