A friendly heal for your battles is always a good option.

Hello everyone, in this post I'm going to talk about a Splinterlands card that is sometimes ignored by new players because it doesn't seem to be very useful in battles since it doesn't have an attack, but actually it's an amazing card to have because it offers a great support for your other cards.

This card is the Merdaali Guardian and you must have played with it at some point or seen it in one of its battles, but what is so special about this card to be chosen for battle?.

As it is a card that doesn't have an attack as I mentioned before so it won't be useful for dealing damage in battles, what really makes it useful is its abilities that provide great support for your other cards. In total Merdaali Guardian has 3 abilities and they are acquired at certain levels of the card, first let's take a look at the statistics of Merdaali Guardian.

In the image above you can better see all the statistics of the Merdaali Guardian card, including its levels and abilities. To access this part just click on the card and go to the Stats part, I will leave the main information about it below.

Edition: Chaos Legion
Rarity: Rare
Deck: Water
Attack type: None
Abilities: Tank Heal, Repair and Strengthen
Mana Cost: 3
Power: 20 ( 1 BCX )

Because it's a rare card it has 8 levels and with each level it gets stronger, but currently I'm only using it at level 1 because I'm still in the bronze league, but I hope to use it at higher levels later on because it's a great card.

At level 1 she only has the Tank Heal ability which I consider to be her main support ability, her main weakness is her amount of life which is only 3 so she can be easily defeated if she is the target of your opponent's cards so keep it her away from the first position.

Despite playing with her only at level 1 I will explain all her abilities so that you have a better view of the card.

Her first ability is Tank Heal and she makes Merdaali Guardian heal your top card at 1/3 of her maximum health. I consider healing abilities to be extremely powerful in battles because they often save your cards from being defeated and the more health the card being healed has the more effective the healing will be so try to use high health cards in the first position.

The second ability is Repair which is also an excellent support for battles because it makes Merdaali Guardian repair part of the shield of the card that has suffered the most damage. The shield will be very useful for your cards to defend against melee and ranged attacks so it's a great ability.

The third ability is Strengthen and it makes Merdaali Guardian increase the health of all your cards by +1 and the more health your cards have the lower the chances of being defeated so it is also a great ability.

This is a quick explanation of how Merdaali Guardian's abilities work, but as I mentioned before I only used her at level 1 where she only has the Tank Heal ability, in addition to choosing cards that would match her well for battle and these are:

The summoner chosen was Kelya Frendul and she will give +1 speed and +1 shield to my cards so she is a very useful summoner.

For the first position I chose the Cruel Sethropod which is a melee card with no abilities, but it has a low mana cost and a lot of shield.

For second position I choose Flying Squid which is a melee card with Reacha ability so it is able to attack from second position and has a lot of health.

For the third position I choose Ice Pixie which is a card with magic attack and with the ability Flying that makes it more likely to dodge attacks from other cards that do not have the ability Flying.

For the fourth position I choose Merdaali Guardian which will be the support card healing the cards that are in the first position with its Tank Heal ability.

For the fifth position I chose Xenith Archer which is a ranged card from the neutral deck that has no abilities.

For the sixth position I choose Deeplurker which is a melee card with the Opportunity ability that will make him attack the lowest life card.

BATTLE

This battle took place in the bronze league and the deck used by me was the Water deck with the summoner Kelya Frendul, the deck used by my opponent was the Terra deck with the summoner Obsidian.

In battle the summoner chosen by my opponent will increase the magic attack of his cards by +1 and in this battle he has 3 cards with that type of attack. The shield that my summoner Kelya Frendul gives to my cards will not be useful against these cards because the magic attack goes through the shield and directly attacks the life of the card, so it will only be useful against Unicorn Mustang but as it has a lot of attack then it's still a good choice to have the shield.

As the Unicorn Mustang has the Void ability, my Ice Pixie will have a hard time dealing damage to him since the Void ability reduces the damage received by magic attacks, in addition he also has a card with the Tank Heal ability that is the Goblin Psychic so so like me his cards in the first position will be healed.

There is no set rule in this battle.

Round 1:

In the first round, despite my opponent having many cards with magic attack and my card Cruel Sethropod which is in the first position and has little life, my opponent was not able to defeat this card because his cards had little speed and with the help of Kelya Frendul increasing the speed of my cards and Merdaali Guardian healing the Cruel Sethropod he managed to resist this round. The Khmer Princess was the Deeplurker's target and she was defeated.

1 card from my opponent was defeated and no card from me.

Round 2:

In the second round Cruel Sethropod didn't have the same luck and was defeated, now Flying Squid is in the first position and he will be a great defense because he has a lot of life. The Goblin Psychic was the target of Deeplurker and he was defeated, this gives me a big advantage because now my opponent doesn't have any cards to heal his cards and I still have the Merdaali Guardian.

1 card from my opponent was defeated and 1 card from me.

Round 3:

In the third round the Flying Squid is being a great defense for the battle with the help of the Merdaali Guardian, now that the Unicorn Mustang doesn't have any cards to heal him, he is low on health and the Deeplurker was not able to defeat any cards this time. round.

None of my opponent's cards were defeated and none of my cards.

Round 4:

In the fourth round Unicorn Mustang was finally defeated but I also had my Flying Squid card defeated, now Ice Pixie has taken the first position and she has low health so she is an easy target.

1 card from my opponent was defeated and 1 card from me.

Round 5:

In the fifth round Ice Pixie was an easy target as I imagined and she was defeated, now Merdaali Guardian is in the first position defending and the card she will heal is herself. Deeplurker managed to defeat one more card in this round and now only my opponent's Regal Peryton remains.

1 card from my opponent was defeated and 1 card from me.

Round 6:

In the sixth round I only have Deeplurker and Xenith Archer to deal damage and both miss the attacks because Regal Peryton has a lot of speed and the ability Flying, Merdaali Guardian healed and with that she was not defeated.

none of my opponent's cards were defeated and none of my cards.

Round 7:

In the seventh round Deeplurker was able to hit Regal Peryton but didn't defeat her and Xenith Archer missed the attack, again Merdaali Guardian heals in the same amount as Regal Peryton did damage to her so she wasn't defeated.

none of my opponent's cards were defeated and none of my cards.

Round 8:

In the eighth round my cards miss the attacks again and Merdaali Guardian is not defeated.

none of my opponent's cards were defeated and none of my cards.

Round 9:

In the ninth round Deeplurker misses the attack but Xenith Archer hits.

none of my opponent's cards were defeated and none of my cards.

Round 10:

In the tenth round the Deeplurker hits the target and the battle comes to an end.

1 card from my opponent was defeated and no card from me.

Conclusion:

This was a battle where Merdaali Guardian was extremely important because she helped a lot of my cards that were in the first position not to be defeated easily and at the end of the battle when she took the first position my opponent was not able to defeat her because she healed in the same amount he dealt damage, so it's an excellent card to have in battles even if you don't have an attack.
