Hoy les traigo un tema relacionado con los males que acarrean las lluvias, pues estas son bienvenidas y muy necesarias pero también acarrean ciertos problemas. En una de mis publicaciones anteriores les hablé de los daños en la vialidad por causa de la acumulación de aguas y hoy abordaré otra realidad enfocándome en mi país Venezuela.

La llegada de aguaceros, ya sea por el inverno o por las repentinas vaguadas producto de los coletazos de tormentas o de huracanes en el atlántico, estas representan una amenaza para las viviendas en cualquiera de los modelos. Los techos y paredes de las casas se ven afectados por la humedad. Las filtraciones de agua se han vuelto parte de la normalidad caótica, por lo que es común ver los tejados de las casas deterioradas sin el mantenimiento pertinente. Esto no siempre fue así, pero no más de lamentos y vayamos a la solución que encontré junto a mi tío para tratar las imperfecciones del techo.

Bien amigos, resulta que en días pasados pudimos resolver un problema de humedad que estaba afectando gravemente el techo y parte de las paredes. Una realidad que afecta a la mayoría de los venezolanos es el deterioro de las viviendas pero nos hemos vuelto capaces de resolver de una u otra forma algunos de los problemas que nos aquejan.

Many Venezuelans have already adopted this way of treating roofs because the cost of the asphalt mantle, in addition to the rest of the materials is very high for the current Venezuelan economy, everything would come out at an estimated cost of 300 dollars or more, including labor. For example, the area we worked on is 43 mt2, corresponding to the bedrooms, and only two buckets of liquid asphalt and one gallon of plastic cement were used. The material cost was $65. We offered my uncle a few dollars as a thank you as it should be. We are all in the same boat and we should lend each other a hand. The truth is that the investment was small and very useful.

La solución es económica, pero factible, pues se trata de impermeabilizar solo vertiendo capas de asfalto líquido. Ya muchos venezolanos han adoptado esta forma de tratar los techos porque el costo del manto asfáltico, además del resto de los materiales es muy elevado para la actual economía del venezolano, todo saldría en un costo estimado de 300 dólares o más, incluyendo la mano de obra. Por ejemplo, el área que trabajamos es de 43 mt2, es la correspondiente a los dormitorios y solo se llevó dos cuñetes de asfalto líquido y un galón de cemento plástico. El gasto en material fue de 65 dólares. A mi tío le ofrecimos en agradecimiento unos dólares como debe ser. Todo estamos en el mismo barco y debemos darnos una mano unos con otros. Lo cierto es que la inversión fue poca y de mucha utilidad.
