Art in the true sense of the word

I love being surprised like that.
Yesterday we talked about art in the absolute figurative sense of the word. It was something imaginary, completely made up. But here there is art. In the true sense of the word. Also, semi-hidden. Here it is, between some residential buildings, near a boulevard, but a little further away.
I happened to walk past it. I was in a hurry. Still, I stopped. I was so surprised that there was no way I could not stop.

Let me tell you, shot like that in haste, without insight into the detail, without a thorough examination, this art probably doesn't tell you much. And yes, it needs to be looked at in detail and I wish I had time for that. Because, of course, I can't find out anything more, from the Internet or anywhere else. So many urban sculptures remain semi-nameless, unmarked, unappreciated. Especially those who stand a little further away.
Still, this sculpture, these figures woven into each other in such a peculiar way, is impressive. And I hope another day I will happen to pass by it again so that I can photograph it more thoroughly.

Hive.jpgSoul's Detour is a project started by me years ago when I had a blog about historical and not so popular tourist destinations in Eastern Belgium, West Germany and Luxembourg. Nowadays, this blog no longer exists, but I'm still here - passionate about architecture, art and mysteries and eager to share my discoveries and point of view with you.

Usually forgotten but I am grateful there is still some art left on the streets and in the public parks.
Few traces, or I'd say less and less, left of spirituality around...

Oh really? Do you think so too? Well, I've always wondered what people do when thinking this way. 🤔Personally, I have a desire to emigrate. Any art I've seen in this country can't compare to what I've seen abroad. With few exceptions, of course. There are some unforgettable sculptures I have seen along the coast. But nothing more.

Yes, poor people don't care much about art. One of the ways to keep people enslaved, right...
