Assencho, the All-Seeing Eye

Assencho, the All-Seeing Eye, ๐Ÿ˜น is a special Alpha cat.
He liked to control everything that happened in the garden (including me ๐Ÿ˜†), usually lying somewhere and pretending to be asleep, but always watching me with one eye.

IMG_20220615_094717.jpg
As he does here, lying in his favorite place - on a thorn bush.
(Yeah, I know, I've already shown you part of this photo session before. These photos, presenting this unusual posture and situation, are not completely unknown to you.)
But now I show you the rest of the pictures, adding a new aspect to the story of this extraordinary cat.

IMG_20220615_094752.jpg

Because Assencho the All-Seeing Eye had to be neutered, and now the Alpha Cat is without... you know.

IMG_20220615_094816.jpg

And what sets him apart from the previous cat he was is that he has become very cowardly. He is afraid and runs away from absolutely everything, absolutely every noise in the garden and outside, even when this noise is not suspicious and dangerous with anything.

IMG_20220615_094831.jpg
(Do you see what a model he is? He likes to pose and to be photographed and he's also very photogenic.)

Sometimes he even refuses to eat if something around seems suspicious to him. And the last time I had to deal with his fear and anxiety was when I put Frontline on his neck.
I thought I would be able to do it alone, so I held his body with one hand and applied the preparation with the other.

IMG_20220615_094846.jpg

At that moment, however, there was a noise in the street. From there passed (as every day at that time) a man who was returning his cattle from grazing. I think our cats already know this man. As they know his cows too. So many times they met him on the street in front of the house.
But no.

IMG_20220615_094910.jpg

Assencho received a panic attack, as if the man on the street, behind the high fence of the garden, was the most dangerous thing in the world, life-threatening, and tried to run away from me.
However, I grabbed him with both hands and then he started shaking.

IMG_20220615_094925.jpg

He was shaking his body so hard I could barely hold it with both hands. Trying at the same time to break away from me. It was really very difficult to hold him until the man outside passed and the noise disappeared, then I continued the procedure.

IMG_20210502_185157.jpg

You must be saying, "poor boy". Yes, I probably would have said the same thing if I hadn't watched him closely. Because this cat is full of contradictions. ๐Ÿ˜„

IMG_20220607_144223~2.jpg
(After castration, Asencho seems to prefer more comfortable places to sleep, and this is how I found him with his brother recently - sleeping at the table in the garden pavilion.) ๐Ÿ˜‚

IMG_20220607_144129~2.jpg

He is extremely afraid of external factors, but at the same time he continues to harass his two brothers. They, in turn, are harassing him too. But they can't do it the way he does. Because he often does not leave them to eat in peace. (Of course, I have to be there and watch over them while they eat.)

IMG_20220615_140219.jpg

When he was little, he did exactly the same thing with his brothers and sister - he literally stuck a claw in their noses if they dared to eat before he ate. So castration did not affect him in this regard.

IMG_20220615_140335.jpg

And something else. He is hard to bear with his constant meowing in front of the kitchen door - fed or not, every time he passes in front of the kitchen, he starts meowing. And this meowing sometimes has no end.

IMG_20220609_185434~2.jpg
(This is another very comfortable place to sleep now. ๐Ÿ˜บ)

You know these videos of huskies constantly howling and their owners responding to them and seeming to have an endless dialogue between man and dog, sometimes even illustrated with bubbles of fictional cues.

IMG_20220609_185429~2.jpg

Sometimes I do this with Assencho - I respond to his meowing by imitating him, or I just speak to him in human language. I ask him something and he answers. Then I ask him something else and he answers again. And so on indefinitely.

IMG_20220601_192358~2.jpg

And in order not to accuse me that some of the photos I showed you here may look familiar to you, I promise that in the next posts I will show you Assencho's next huge photo shoot (as I told you and you could see it, he likes to be photographed) ๐Ÿ“ท๐Ÿ˜ธ๐Ÿˆ

Happy next #CaturDay, cat lovers! ๐Ÿ˜ป

Hello dear friend @soulsdetour good morning

Beautiful shots, a real pleasure to meet Mr Assencho, don't worry about the shots, the audience is renewed, as is my case, I had never seen these shots before

It is more common than it seems that cats change their personality after being castrated, I have had cats all my life and I have seen how castration changes them completely
In the opinion of veterinarians, castration is very beneficial for animals, it enhances their health

I take this opportunity to wish you a splendid morning

Hi dear @jlufer, these are not the same photos, but part of the same photo shoot I once showed here. I thought it was correct to clarify this detail so that everything would be clear in my posts.
Anyway, I have also had cats all my life, but in my country castration is not a tradition, people still do not think about it and have no experience with it. It turned out that their experience with castration of a male cat (even the experience of veterinarians) is even less.
So last year we experienced great horror with the castration of these two cats, which I show in the post, and the third we did not dare to castrate. For fear that something will happen and he will die.
There have been no such problems with female cats so far, but their personality has not changed as much after castration. But now I see how much male cats have really changed.
Have a beautiful weekend! ๐Ÿ˜Š

Hello, I have a cat similar to Assencho, black and white. He is just over 3 months old, and I could regret that when I neuter him he will change his character. Which is now that of a playful and affectionate, and very naughty kitten.

Hi @coquicoin, I'm not an expert because I don't have much experience with neutering male cats, but I guess it's not entirely clear how exactly a cat will change after castration and what traits it will retain. It is said that this usually brings benefits to the health and behavior of the animal. At least because he won't go too far to look for female cats and fight other male cats. But I think it's all a matter of luck.

Yes, as you say, it must be a bit of luck. My cat lives in a flat, so the risk of him running away to look for fights is small. But he could start trying to mark territory if we don't neuter him. So the time will come.
Thanks for the pizza, and happy Sunday!

Hello friend @soulsdetour, very nice pictures of your cute cat, I imagine the meowing. I have two at home and even if I have eaten they are still there meowing, I don't think they get tired of doing it. Thanks for sharing. Best regards.

Yes, they never get tired of meowing. They are able to eat well and abundantly, and after 5 minutes to come again to meow at the door. This is an amazing ability! ๐Ÿ˜น
