Amazing! What a gorgeous seaside resort dear @soulsdetour. I've been to many hotels along the coast, but never have I witnessed such spectacular buildings with fortress-inspired architecture. I guess the hotel owners in collaboration with the Architects purposely designed that site's medieval atmosphere - to provide guests with authentic experiences of that specific period. Hence the literal recreations of battle cannons, watchtowers, and stone-clad facades. πŸ˜ŠπŸ‘

Hmmm, 500 euros to enjoy a room per night in that hotel? That's ridiculously expensive! Like you, I've also stayed for vacations in other prestigious accommodations with much lower prices. But what's the catch? Could it be due to its location, being along the Black Sea? Or perhaps because of the medieval-themed environment? Could that specific beach property possess historical or cultural significance? I'm simply curious what would be their justification for their high rates. πŸ€”

Dear @storiesoferne, I visited and photographed this place with mixed feelings.
My first and most natural reaction to this view, as a resident of this country, was absolutely negative. I do not live on the coast, but I am generally aware of the situation in the resorts in this country - excessive construction on beaches, mostly illegal, destruction of nature reserves and protected areas, poor quality construction, extremely rich people with dubious sources of income and dubious intelligence, who manage a large part of this territory... Familiar with the mentality of the Bulgarians, at first I was very indignant when I saw this place. All this imitation, pomposity... so typical for them. Then I was even more outraged when I found their site with the prices of the premises they offer and the requirements for a 5-day stay, on top of everything. But...
...I just looked at booking.com and it turns out that in fact I greatly underestimate the Bulgarians, this, in my opinion, poor people. It turns out that many Bulgarians, as well as Romanians (the poorest countries in the EU) have already been guests of this hotel and have left their opinion about it in this application.
As for the look of the hotel as a fortress, it's just a fake. It provides neither authentic experiences nor a medieval atmosphere. There is a special architectural style in Bulgarian construction, which cannot be translated exactly into other languages. It contains the word Baroque, but it also contains a slang word that takes a very long explanation to be understood by foreigners. But in short, this architectural style encompasses buildings that are built by very rich people with dubious intelligence and dubious taste, ie. who have no taste. And this building is on the border for me. It almost belongs to this style.
But this is only my perception and I did not want to occupy our curious readers with these insignificant psychological and national peculiarities. So I turned the course of my post in another direction. More showing than commenting, because, as I said, everything here is very relative and very complicated and long to explain.

I completely understand your important point dear @soulsdetour. And I probably would have felt the same way too. It's a rare privilege to be in your shoes - experiencing the actual scenarios as if I was an insider like you. Hence, before I plunge into a major decision such as choosing a super pricey hotel like your featured architecture, I would preferably consult a trusted local as much as possible. That way, the concealed stories, hidden agendas, and untold secrets behind these so-called "tourist traps", "promotional fronts" and "fake architecture" would be disclosed. 😊

Thank you so much for sharing your honest views. Have an awesome week! πŸ˜˜πŸ‘

Hi @citaamanda, I'm glad you find this place beautiful. The owner and the architects have tried to achieve just this effect. And then comes the tastes and perceptions of each individual visitor. And of course, the financial capabilities of each individual visitor and the desire to spend their money exactly here. 😊

I’d love to visit Bulgaria one day and the black sea coast looks like an amazing place but I have mixed feelings about the architecture of these buildings. A bit too β€œDisney-ish” for me. I’ve stayed in very old Palaces converted into hotels, some luxury some more affordable but what makes them interesting is the history and stories of people that lived and worked there for centuries. This Grandiose imitation doesn’t seem to have a soul. It looks fake. Do you know why they chose this medieval theme when they built this building?

"Mixed feelings" - I just wrote this in my comment a little above. Apparently, this building has such an effect not only on me.
In writing this post, I tried not to be so negative. I usually criticize the situation in the country a lot, and because of that 😊 But this time I did not succeed. Because then come people like you who express their opinion honestly and it turns out that it is the same as mine.
Why owners and builders have chosen this architectural theme, I can only guess. It is really very difficult to explain the psychology of a nation in just one comment. But even if I try to do it, I'm sure I won't find words for it. It will be a torturous attempt to explain the inexplicable, and in the end it will turn out that I have achieved nothing. I know that.
You are absolutely right about the palaces turned into hotels and their atmosphere - absolutely unattainable by this dead mastodon here, oops, not a mastodon, but hmm, I don't know how to call this modern creation anymore.πŸ€”

This look like a castle. This view will be quite good for relaxation purposes. Must be top notch in the city

Yes, it really looks like some kind of a castle. The architectures and builders really did their best in this regard.
The hotel is probably good for relax, but it is not possible for everyone to stay in it. So I can't say for sure. Personally, I can't stay there. πŸ˜„

Oh yes, the building really looks like a castle. I would call it a modern and stylish interpretation of an old castle. Looking at the photos, it seemed to me that you had a chance to visit a restored medieval architectural masterpiece. But the prices of 500-1000 euros per night (and given the fact that the minimum stay is 5 days) is depressing. In my country there are also many beautiful places, but their prices are not affordable for local citizens.
"It's not personal. It's just business"
I have never been in such a luxurious apartment, although... I spent the night at a medieval festival near the Mir Castle. This is a majestic Belarusian restored castle. But that night I, like hundreds of other people, spent in a tent city πŸ˜…

Here is a replica, dear @danny.green, not a restoration. So, there are people for everything and as I wrote above, it turned out that many Bulgarians already visited this hotel and slept there.
It's actually a matter of priorities. I prefer the authentic places. Not exactly a tent city 😁 (although this has given you unforgettable experiences and memories, I'm sure) but I would prefer a real, old-fashioned palace.
Of course, spending your vacation in such luxury is very tempting, because in spite of everything, the construction is spectacular and the project is meticulous in detail. But I, as a local person, knowing the situation on the Bulgarian Black Sea coast as a resort, would not do it. For this money I would go to the Amalfi coast. 😊

WoW !What a luxurious replica of a fortress or castle??πŸ˜‚! I love the details with the stones on the walls and in the towers. It looks amazing. Love the color combination. It looks quite neat and simple, but luxurious at the same time. Nice details the windows, and the pirate cannons. Excellent pictures .

Exactly, dear @francisaponte25, "neat and simple, but luxurious at the same time". I can't deny that a lot of effort has been put in here, apart from a lot of money 😁. As well as attention and skills. It's not everybody's taste. But I think we all can appreciate it.
