Chronology of a cat game in pictures

Having three male cats in the yard is supposed to be fun, right?

Yet I still miss (and will always be missing) their sister, the only woman in the gang. My only female support, my trusted companion and faithful dog 😿

She was the bravest of them all, the greatest and most industrious hunter, brave fighter, defending with all her might their feline space and property (the garden) from the encroachments of foreign cats.

Although she was neutered, just like her two brothers I already showed to you (The All-Seeing Eye and the tiger cat in the background).

Everything is different now when she's gone.

Now her three brothers are behaving like timid and spoiled babies.

It's not just that they like me to put food in their mouths. I do this, usually when I give them some delicacy and I want it to be divided equally. But they expect me to do this in principle. 😹

I also have to always stand by them while they are eating, because Assencho, the All-Seeing Eye, the Alpha Cat, constantly harasses his brothers and does not let them eat in peace.

As long as I'm next to them and watching them, everything is fine. But the moment I turn my back, the picture changes dramatically. 😆

And I often see the following scene - Assencho eats calmly while his two brothers stand aside and watch him, waiting for him to finish his meal.

This is such a strange sight, given his timidity after castration.

This is with every meal. But it is most difficult with the second, evening meal.

Because I usually feed them at night. And then I have to stand next to them and wait for them to feed, not just because of the fights between them.

But because of the foreign cats, and most of all, because of their constant fear and proverbial timidity.

The three of them are so afraid to eat in the evening that they are constantly listening, exploring every night noise around them, standing over their bowls.

Even if this noise is very distant, through several houses or streets. Or if it's very close - coming from under one of the evergreen shrubs in the garden.

They listen and listen, and don't dare to begin to eat.

I am the one who orders them to eat. Turning consecutively to each of them. Saying the names of each of them individually and telling them to eat.

This may sound ridiculous, but it works because these three little/big babies actually know their names very well. And when I say one of them and tell him that he has to eat, he really bows his head and starts eating.

I guess my voice just calms them down. It is clear that they do not understand my language (although I constantly talk to them 😹).

But having me by their side and hearing my voice makes them feel safe.

After all, I am their mother + that bad human who constantly chases the foreign cats out of the garden when they show up there and start claiming their feline property.

I have to do this now. There was no need for me to do that when their sister was alive, because she was an uncompromising fighter.
Like all female beings? 🤔🙄
