Harmless creatures, part 1

(Edited)

I've learned so many things here on Hive, that I think it's time to do something in return, namely share my own knowledge, or some information I've found very recently while searching for the name of a specific insect on the net. Information that changed my perception and attitude, as every knowledge changes the perception, right?

IMG_20220619_131718.jpg

Unfortunately, I don't possess own pictures of the creatures I want to talk about today, so this post will be illustrated with pictures of other animals... spiders 😁 I decided to be spiders, because they should arouse the same emotions as the insects in question. (Because I know how much you like these animals 🙃.)

But first let me say a few words about the spiders I show you in the first pictures.
I recently had a discussion under one of my posts about these creatures, but the photos I showed in the post were not exactly of the same species.
Now here there is, another absolutely harmless insect species that just like the crane flies should be (in my opinion) respected and preserved - the Pholcus phalangioides or daddy long-legs spider.

Although I cannot say that I like spiders in general, I can say that the daddy long-leggers are my only friends in the house, often visited for short by a variety of other creatures 😄

(Now I continue with the illustrative photos that have nothing to do with the text. Did I manage to deceive you with this misleading title picture?) 😁

(What I am showing here is a clear example of what it means for an animal to decide to pose for you. Because this huge specimen I found in the garden decided to do just that.)

Did I mention that I have a phobia of some types of insects? Well, these spiders (my room-mates and co-tenants, the Pholcus phalangioides) do not fall into this group, for sure. And most of all - we respect each other's personal space, each stands in their own corner of the room and does not tease the other 😅.

IMG_20220609_195107~2.jpg

And one more thing I've probably mentioned before - these spiders aren't in your house by chance. If they had nothing to catch in their nets and eat, they would not be there.

So the same goes for the beings for whom this post was initially intended - house centipedes and silverfish.

IMG_20220609_195114~2.jpg

There is a site I found on the net, while searching for the names of some insects and this site is called "somethingscrawlinginmyhair". Quite funny, don't you think? At first I thought this is a blog of a woman for sure, but I actually cannot be 100 percent.
However, it is us, women who irrationally panic that 'something has crawled into our hair'.
And we are the ones who scream and jump when we see animals like the centipedes and silverfish in our homes.

IMG_20220609_195118~2.jpg
(It was not possible to photograph this guy in much different poses than shown. If it had moved, it would probably have escaped.
On the other hand, I'm not quite sure I'm not afraid to get too close to this animal. That's why the photos look so the same. Yet they are different shots.
)

Oh, the post has already become too long and you are probably tired of reading about terrifying animals. Well, I will continue with the main topic in a next post then. 😊

Thank you! 🤗 It's a little embarrassing to talk about spiders, and I guess the subject isn't very pleasant, but I'm glad you understood me right. 😊

Why would you think that? Spiders have their important niche in the animal world.
We act by impulses sometimes and do them harm, unfortunately.
I think they are very beautiful.

I think they are cruel hunters in general, and that is why people perceive them like this (terrified) 😁
Then they react impulsively without thinking and kill them, yes. It is sad 😢

True. It is hard to control those impulses, speaking from my own experience! :)

Thanks for the tokens, here are some from me too ;)

Oh, I can imagine. 🤭 Men react impulsively. Women scream impulsively too 😄
