Locked in the garage

I was out, in front of the house door, stroking our black Blacky, when I heard a soft meow.

The sound was very low, as if it came from very far away. And at the same time, it was heard like a whisper, which was very close.

I looked around. There was nobody there. No other cat except for our pampered Blackie.

Then I heard it again. A weak, timid meow. Somewhere nearby, but very low.

I looked around again. And only then did I understand what was going on. I went to the garage and opened the door. From there, with a calm step, came Assencho, the All-Seeing Eye. He was missing for several hours.

Assencho was missing for several hours and I was looking for him everywhere.
I've told you before how many of our cats just disappeared, and I always worry if one of our three remaining cats doesn't show up for breakfast or dinner. Or disappears for a few hours during the day.
I have also told you how much Assencho changed over time and after the castration. He doesn't go anywhere anymore.

He usually lies on the bench in front of the house.

Or on the well as I showed you above.

He also often sleeps or just lies on the wooden table in the gazebo.

And when I'm out, he just changes his lying position, coming to roll at my feet.

IMG_20220717_193854~2.jpg

Not only has he become very lazy, but he is also very cowardly.

So I was very surprised when he just disappeared that day.

IMG_20220707_170650~2.jpg

Of course I checked the garage before closing the door. I always do this because I'm always afraid that I'll lock a cat inside without wanting to. Especially in the heat. But so far this had not happened.
And when I checked the garage, it was completely empty, I'm sure. And that day was also very hot.

But when I finally heard Assencho's meow, I found out where it was coming from and opened the door, he walked out as if nothing had happened.
It was as if nothing special had happened to him. And he doesn't seem to blame me for anything. He looked like he had a good time inside. Well yeah, since he's not going anywhere anyway, so what if he spent a few hours in the garage.
Do I have to say that Assencho is a very strange cat 🤭

Happy #CaturDay, cat lovers! 🐱🐈

Sounds like he has a great character 😻😅
Really glad that you found him as it is a terrible feeling when a fur kid has disappeared 🤗

Yes, I have already experienced it quite a few times. Very unpleasant. And when that cat doesn't show up for days, weeks, and months later... never, the ensuing sense of grief is even more terrible.
Yes, each of our cats currently has its own special character. 😊
