Recovering

Speaking of the acid rain, here is the greatest miracle I've witnessed this year in the garden - the recovering of the persimmon tree.

I actually never found out exactly what it was that rained that day. I'm sure we'll never know. With every huge air pollution in our country - from a fire in an industrial zone, burning of prohibited and hazardous waste, pollution from chemical plants and thermal power plants, the authorities say that everything is fine and the air is clean. As they said during the accident in Chernobyl, by the way.

Maybe it was a good thing that we didn't go out that day, but stayed at home. Let's hope our cats didn't walk around in the rain too much then too.

And most importantly, nature has incredible restorative power.
It has adapted to its repeated poisoning by humans and seems to have become stronger than ever (hopefully 🙏).

So strong that this young tree could recover from the poison it was poured on it and created such a beautiful new lush foliage that I couldn't stop photographing.

I couldn't stop admiring it.

And couldn't stop being happy for it.

Well, there will be no fruit this year, that's for sure.

I think that all the buds vanished that day with the rain.

But I'm still very happy for the tree and hope that next year it will bear fruit again.

I guess Nature will cope much better without us at some point, if we continue to cut the branch we sit on...

For sure, it will thrive better. I always think of this meme presenting the conversation between the sick Earth and Mars, who (Mars) asks her (Earth) what did she get sick with. She says "humans", that it is contagious and finally screams: Run, Mars! Run!
It is so true and so sad! 😢

I imagine it will shake off and we will fall from it like fleas or lice from a dog's fur. Because we are nothing more than a plague for it. And just like a plague, we cling to it and won't let go.
But that's exactly why earthquakes happen, I'm sure.
