How nice it is to have another year of life and celebrate it, because we deserve the best, in a new year we start where we have the opportunity to try new things and do better others, for me the birthday is very important, but also lately I have felt sad since the year began, because while life passes in a beautiful way, the family is growing, in my country Venezuela we value very much the family union, we love family reunions, hugs, kisses, it fills us with joy to share, eat, invite friends, the celebration can be of any kind, we enjoy singing birthdays or singing karaoke, but since January of this year my family ended up separating and there are few of us left, the worst thing is that more are leaving.

There are no more hugs, no more cousin fights, no more scolding for sticking your fingers in the cakes, no more scolding from grandma for walking with your hands on the walls or shouting around the house, you only feel the emptiness, everyone on video call, We all make jokes without understanding much because of the bad phone signals in Venezuela and although maybe before we did not have to share a cake from some expensive restaurant and we had to make them at home, now I discovered that they send us expensive cakes and good dinners, but without them to share, this does not help much, I know I can not turn back time, because each one evolved as he/she could.

It has been twenty difficult years for everyone in Venezuela, and everyone has managed to find a better stability, but I feel that even the feelings have changed, being in another country you work day after day without rest I think it makes anyone have a hard heart, so we can only be more united with the few that remain to achieve emotional stability that I still do not get, I left a part of my soul and although I finally managed to also form a home, I miss my uncles when they used to grill and play music, I miss my aunts talking about all the things that happened to them at work, the doctor uncles who would arrive one day and the next they would leave because they were on call, the little cousins who wanted to imitate me because I was the oldest, and yes we all grow up and definitely everything must change, but I can't help but miss those moments from time to time.

A few days ago we celebrated the 65th birthday of my aunt Magalys and we could count on our hands, we repeated the cake three times, when before it was a single portion, there were soft drinks to distribute, napkins were left over and the ice was intact, all this makes me think, that life is very short and we must take advantage of every minute of it, because the people who pass through our lives are fleeting, they spend a moment and leave because they must continue on their way, birthday nostalgia, but happy because it is one of my favorite aunts who has a birthday and I am grateful to life for giving me every moment by her side, we had a good time with those we were with but I felt the emptiness of the people who were missing.
