Some time ago I took a lot of pictures with my cell phone, almost daily. It was an exercise of improvising and keeping a memory of everything my eyes saw.
In Venezuela it was very easy for me, I knew the light, the textures I liked, the contrasts. Now that I am a migrant it has cost me a little more to connect with that look, I imagine that my brain is still making recognition of the place it inhabited, its tonalities, and its forms.

I have been playing again with the portrait, finding my belonging in this place from the most intimate part of myself.

Hace un tiempo hacía muchisimas fotografias con mi celular, casi a diario. Era un ejercicio de improvisar y mantener un recuerdo de todo lo que mis ojos veían.
En Venezuela se me hacía muy sencillo, conocía la luz, las texturas que me gustaban, los contrastes. Ahora que soy una emigrante me ha costado un poco más conectar con esa mirada, me imagino que mi cerebro está haciendo aún reconocimiento del lugar que habitó, sus tonalidades, y sus formas.

He estado un poco jugando de nuevo con el retrato, encontrando mi pertenencia en este lugar desde lo más íntimo que soy yo misma.

Photography has always been a curiosity and a hobby for me, I find it a wonderful expression of art. Sometimes there are things that cannot be explained with words, but an image lets you see the feeling that exists.

I will start to take a few pictures a week to activate myself, taking up again what I like so much and gives me a lot of freedom.

La fotografía siempre ha sido una curiosidad y un hobbie para mi, me parece una maravillosa expresión de arte. A veces hay cosas que no se pueden explicar con palabras, pero una imagen te deja ver el sentimiento que existe.

Comenzaré a hacer unas fotografías semanales para ir activándome, retomando eso que tanto me gusta y me da mucha libertad.

I have limited myself a lot because I don't have a camera, but I have really enjoyed experimenting with my cell phone, because sometimes we believe that the equipment we have is what makes the photo, however, we are the ones who create the photo, who capture what we see with our eyes.
You have to keep experimenting, dare and enjoy it.

Me he limitado mucho por no tener cámara, pero he disfrutado mucho experimentar con mi celular, porque a veces creemos que el equipo que tenemos es el que logra la foto, sin embargo, somos nosotros quienes creamos la foto, quienes captamos eso que miramos con nuestros ojos.
