Greetings,

Dear friends, I am here again with my publications of the old architecture of my city.

These days I have been able to get out of the business and walk around the city in search of that great architecture that brings history and meaning to my city.

For months that I have been doing exercises I have had the opportunity to do it in the middle of the city and it is here where the clinical eye plus some information with other citizens I can elaborate my publications.

This week something curious happened to me, I knew I had to visit a building but I had not managed to enter it until yesterday by chance it was a point of sale for the registration of a walk in which I will participate, when entering that place time stops and takes you to those golden years of the city.

This large house is known today in the city as the Primo Casales music school, but in its beginnings it was the royal prison of the city, I believe that for being a royal prison it was also one of the main prisons of the state, today there is no longer any form in its interior that resembles that era.

Sometime between the 90's and 2000 was restored so inside we will see modern terracotta floors but its walls, railings, doors and windows are original of the time.

Inside like all those colonial houses have the rooms at the ends and a central courtyard, the walls are quite thick as they were built of mud, the decor is influenced to its current use which is the music school. At the entrance there is a really beautiful hand painted mural.

The interior is impeccable all in function of the music school and with large spaces where we can see a beautiful piano, some old records among other things.

The roof has an incredible job since they replaced the bitter cane of the time and placed a mesh to pour concrete and maintain the colonial style but without requiring as much maintenance as the bitter cane, from the ceiling hang original chandeliers of the house only that they did a job to place current and light bulbs, also preserved a room with original furniture of the house very beautiful indeed.

This house is in a very good state of conservation in general lines this perhaps with the help of the payments that the school of music receives, perhaps also because those who manage the school are members of Rotary club international but I hope that it continues this way and that it does not depend on some government fund so that it is neglected thanks to them.
