Walking and appreciating what used to be the station park.
Greetings,
Dear friends, I haven't posted here for a few days now, it's just that work takes up too much of my time to walk around the city and make records of its architecture.
A few days ago I managed to make some time and I went to visit the park of the station in my city La Victoria located in the state of Aragua Venezuela.
This park has that name because in the first half of the 1900's it was the route and station of the Venezuela railroad, it was one of the many stations that had this transport that its route began in the capital city of Caracas to the city of Valencia, where connections were made to other routes.
The little I could investigate is that this section of the railroad was a concession of a German company and the rest of the routes was an English concession.
According to information from a park ranger, the park became a recreational zone in December 1977 and then in 1993 it became property of the municipality.
In Venezuela, the only thing that remains of the railroad is the memory of it because of (or thanks to) the transportation unions that waged a war against the railroad to generate their own business. We cannot know if this generated backwardness or progress, but what is done is done.
This park does not escape the little sense of belonging of the citizens, there are many people fighting for its recovery and reforestation, it has an area of 22 hectares.
The little that remains standing is the station house, the entrance and some walkways.
The park has or had several multiple courts, cabins for family gatherings, still retains some playgrounds and parallel bars for exercise.
If we talk about the house, it is evident the finishes for its time, with bitter cane roof and cement tiles, you can also see the straight line where the train was parked for loading and unloading, the floors of the house were restored with terracotta which is the most similar to the original one.
We continue advancing along the paths of the park and we see the ruins of a car of the old railroad, as we continue advancing we can appreciate the ruins of what was a cafeteria and public restroom areas.
Many steps further into the park I arrived to an area covered with bush where you can see what was the parking area for the park users and right there is a water well in disuse with a large subway tank.
Despite the ruins the park is still a great area worth rescuing, thanks to this visit I made contact with a cousin I did not know who is a great ecologist and lover of the park, he tells me that the park has documented more than 45 varieties of birds that live in the park, not counting the number of wild animals that live there, he tells me of an area that needs to be reforested and is working for that.
Most of the trees are timber trees among these are mahogany, saman, apamates and a large number of araguaney which is the national tree, which can be used to rescue the cabins and recreational areas giving it a very friendly aspect with the environment, this park being recovered can be of great help for university careers without counting the great recreational and sports contribution to the city.
One of the things that prevents the advancement of the park and many areas of the city is that it grew and developed more towards the outskirts, being the location of the park a little withdrawn, but with a good management it can attract the general public again.
God grant to create awareness in this green lung of the city and that it can focus on its recovery and see the great potential it has, for my part I would like to see in the house a kind of photographic archive that tell the story to future generations of how was our life and our city with the passage of time.
This is the end of my tour for today, soon I will show you the train station in a neighbor town, but this one is guarded by a company and has parts of the train and is more cared for.
Thank you for joining me on this tour and may God bless you greatly.
The photos are my own taken with the Infinix Hot 10 i cell phone.

Saludos,

There is no doubt that these are spaces that can be rescued in the future, worthwhile for both architectural and historical tourism.

When talking about nature, it is indeed very amazing and satisfying. Full of various trees and very clean.
Yes, very many and a great diversity as well
Hi @soychalbed how beautiful those Apamates and Caobas trees, I really did not know the existence of this park these works almost in ruins still maintain their beauty I hope they recover them , those jajuilla roofs are beautiful. Thanks for sharing them!
If its beauty is indisputable, I understand that there is another very similar park in Valencia.
Hello @soychabel, a park with great potential to develop tourism and outdoor activities, the details of the doors of the house are very nice, despite the years it is preserved in good condition.
Hopefully soon this space can be recovered for recreation and family fun, the idea of the photographic archive is great, so many can know the interesting history of this park and how it has evolved with the development of society.
If a friend has a lot of potential, it is difficult to exploit it because of its size and the amount of resources required to maintain it.
