ENG|ESP. Laughing at myself:

A few days ago, while running errands, I found myself laughing at myself... My husband would say 'down Fernandez Ponce street,' 'onto Durango street,' 'past Anastácio street,' and I'd be like 🤯. I had no idea which streets he was referring to. I think it's because when I was little, in the town where I lived, even though every street had a name, people got into the habit of not using street names but rather points of reference like 'Julia's market,' 'where Alejo's pharmacy is,' 'behind Sebastian's refrigerator.' And so, I was one of those people 😅. We're in a country that's not our own, and my goal is to learn to identify the streets; you never know if it might be necessary in an emergency. I'll leave you now because I'll be checking out Google Maps a bit to familiarize myself with the streets where we live, so I won't embarrass myself anymore 😜. Take care!

Hace días haciendo unas deligencias, me reí de mi misma... Mi esposo me decía "por la calle Fernandez Ponce", "la calle Durango", "la calle Anastácio", y yo 🤯. Ní sabía a que calles se refería. Creo que es porque de pequeña el pueblo donde vivía aunque lógicamente cada calle tenía su nombre, popularmente las personas se acostumbraron a no usar los nombres de las calles sino puntos de referencia "el mercado de Julia", "donde queda la farmácia de Alejo", "detrás del frigorífico de Sebástian". Y así, entre esas personas también yo 😅. Estamos en un país que no es el nuestro, mi meta es aprender a identificar las calles, no se sabe en caso de emergencia si es necesario. Te dejo porque veré en google maps un poco de las calles de en donde vivímos y así no pasar pena conmigo misma 😜. Cuidate!
