My impromptu Friday walk

Happy Tuesday friends, today I want to tell you about my unexpected plan for Friday, which we'll call the rain escape plan.

As I have already told you in different opportunities, I live in Caracas, Venezuela, but I was not born in this city, but I studied and started working here and here I decided to stay.

When I was a university student and in my first professional steps, I got to know and walk through some areas of Caracas, but all this as a pedestrian. So I know the places very well but I know how to get there easier walking than by car, and I still have the habit of locating myself by the subway stations to know if something is far or near (do not ask me street names please hahaha).

The thing is that I rarely go to work by car, usually my boyfriend brings me and looks for me every day, but about a month ago I'm coming on my own every day.

And what does this have to do with my improvised plan on Friday? Well, when I left work and was on my way home I saw that the area where I was going to was totally dark, which meant that I was heading to a heavy rain, so I decided not to drive in those conditions I decided to enter a famous and busy mall in this city to wait for the rain to pass.

It is important to know that I am not very fond of this mall, whenever I go I get lost in the aisles of stores and I never know where the stores are, whenever I think of going to this mall and I am alone, I prefer to go by subway or walking, but on Friday I had no choice, I necessarily had to enter with the car or drive in the rain.

Now imagine my stress when it came to parking, I was panicking about not remembering where I parked, so after locating a spot as close to the stairs as possible, I took a picture of the area where I was so I could guide myself later with it, that's why they say that a cautious woman is worth two.

Having overcome this first stage, and not only the parking because I swear I parked pretty well and without problems hahaha I decided to walk around the mall to wait for the rain to come down and to be able to return home. As I was alone and with the background that I get lost in this place, I was going like Hansel and Gretel from the Brothers Grimm's fairy tale, I was close to leave bread prints along the aisles I was walking.

After a few minutes I was able to relax and walk more calmly through the stores of the mall, and when I saw that it had stopped raining I went for an ice cream, paid the parking ticket and went in search of the car.

The truth is that it was not so difficult to locate myself, maybe because knowing that I was walking alone I had to be more attentive to the road. After this first adventure I am sure that I will go more often without fear of getting lost and without worrying because I go by car. And although it was an unusual walk because it was not planned and I was alone, it was quite pleasant.

Thank you for reading my post and reliving this impromptu walk with me.
