Level 15, and I'm sticking around!

I've just hit level 15 playing Rising Star and I feel that's a bit of a milestone, so I'd like to take a moment to leave a few impressions on my experience with the game so far.

I've started playing a little less than two weeks ago and I've managed to obtain level 15 and 7 cards, without any sort of investment. I've also gathered 8941 STARBITS at the time of this writing, which is the equivalent to a little more than 1 HIVE.

Now, this may not seem much. But let's compare it to another more popular game based around similar gameplay mechanics. I'm talking about Alien Worlds. Like in Rising Star, you also click to complete missions and you also have a timer that you need to wait for it to reset before you can complete another mission.

Of course, the games are different in form because they approach different themes, but a few key concepts are shared between both: clicking for missions, waiting for a timer, and collecting NFT's.

I wasn't much of a fan of this genre, but recently I gave it a go and I realized it's actually a perfect fit for my day to day routines, as I work from home and I have to be behind a computer around nine to ten hours of my day.

So I've started playing both. And what can I tell you about them? I've honestly grown tired of Alien Worlds. There are just too many negative factors. First, the issues with the blockchain and the error one gets stating something like "billable CPU time." If you tried to play the game you probably know what I mean. The game's website states a free user will have 23 mining attempts per day before running out of resources, but in practice we know we often don't even get 10 of those attempts to actually go through.

Then there's the output of the mining, which is incredibly low. For you to have an idea, I've started my last Alien Worlds mining run the exact same day I've started playing Rising Star and I still didn't manage to mine 1 entire Trillium. I also didn't get any NFT's.

At today's prices, that's not even $0.15. At the same time, HIVE is going at a low $1.20, and I have enough STARBITS to convert to 1 HIVE if I want to, just from playing the same type of game for the same amount of days. Not to mention that by playing Rising Star I've also collected 7 NFT cards, which I could sell on the market if I so wished to.

My point here is obvious. If you want to play a game to make a return, Rising Star is by far the better option you have right now. But that's honestly not even the part I like the most about it. While on Alien Worlds one goes to click and leave, Rising Star provides interesting and fun and engaging content that leads one to explore. From the flavour text of the cards to the the way missions are progressive, it's like you are actually playing a game and not just clicking randomly at the command of a timer. It's FUN to read your Diary!

So anyways. I'm Level 15 now, and that means my Ego issues are just starting. Since I have a little more fans than I have skill, I've decided to go ahead and take my first Music Lessons.

Hopefully this will increase my skill and I will be able to safely go back to completing missions to achieve those 10,000 STARBITS that will allow me to acquire a pack.

I'll keep on chasing that, and give up about Alien Worlds. There are no drunken fans in those forsaken planets we are asked to mined endlessly in loneliness, after all...

So you like the game, yes? I like it, too. Been playing for a while. I know how you feel about the Alien Worlds situation. I dropped that game for a long time but recently picked it back up again (because I'll be needing more WAX soon). I probably only mine once per day these days.

I just decided to quit, to be honest. Not worth it without an investment. And I'd rather invest on Splinterlands. Or Rising Star, even. Going full HIVE for my gaming needs, it seems :)

I was trying to go without putting any outside funds into the game at all. It was an interesting project! Then I started putting in revenue from other games like SL and eventually I started spending HIVE in the game for some of their limited edition NFTs. Now I'm level 350something. Don't give up on your journey to stardom!

Agreed! Rising Star is by far so much more fun although it did not meet with any big Binance funding. But on the other hand, perhaps Alien Worlds would have improved a lot if they did not partner up with Binance...

Maybe that's a good thing. Partnering up with the big dogs often leads to have to follow their directions. HIVE is doing fine as is.
