Learning something new is always worth the stress in the end

"Learning they say never ends" but honestly sometimes, may be frustrating... pheww.

The act of learning something new is always fun especially if it's what you have interest in because interest/passion on it's own is a great propeller for rapid learning.

Practicing what you have learnt is always pleasing to you and everyone around watching you display such skills but then, the sacrifices made getting to that level of "near perfection" isn't always easy.

There are things that are easy for me to learn whereas, there are others that gets very difficult for me to learn to the extent that I might find the hack almost at the time I'm about giving up.

Learning Tips That Helps Me

  • Know Yourself:

Funny enough, this was the very first advice a friend gave me when I entered college of medicine for my studies...
In his words,
"Just know what works for you and you will be fine here, many would go for night classes and read all through the night because it's the way they learn but never you follow them if you're the type that prefers reading during the day because going for such would just be a waste of your time"

That's very true... Various persons learn differently so the first step in learning anything in life is always discovering what works best for you and stick to it.

  • Learning Aids:

I personally prefers reading with calm melodious musics as it helps me focus only on my texts without getting distracted from what is happening around me but then, to others, it might be a source of distraction.

Also, some persons prefer learning by watching YouTube videos and other videos but for me, I don't like it for readings but then whenever I'm learning a new skill, the YouTube is always my go-to because I will definitely see a step by step approach to doing it and seeing someone doing what you're learning perfectly is also a source of boost on it's own.

In that same way, whenever you want to learn any skill, know the learning aid that's compatible to you and stick to it.

  • Lifestyle
The way we live our life to a very great extent affects our learning also.
Regular exercise, adequate sleep and even good diet to a very great extent helps us improve our learning.

My Experience

Learning FIFA Games

The very first time I was exposed to FIFA game in PS4 games, I was totally confused... I loved it when I saw some of the older guys playing it but then, I was confused of many things...
How can I hold multiple buttons at the same time without looking at the screen and still give the right commands?

The passion I had for it made me learnt it very fast but at first, I couldn't take my eyes off the pad to see the instructions I was giving and soon enough, I didn't even know when I played without looking at the pad's buttons again and still gave the right command...

The learning was so rapid, lol... That's the power of interest and passion for a task.

Learning the Guitar

On the contrary, this was or rather is a harder nut to crack. I've been interested in musical instruments for a very long time now but there hasn't been an opportunity for me to learn it properly.

Fortunately for me, my roommate plays guitar very well and playing it in the early morning hours of the day was so so amazing that anyone could fall in love with musics just by hearing the sounds of the strings...

I have passion and I'm interested in becoming a good guitarist but somehow it just doesn't seem easy to come by.. I am still in the process of learning it and I won't be giving up until I've achieved my aim.
Definitely, it won't be easy indeed but I'm ready to take it down as far as it leads and I know that with constant practice, I'll get better everyday.

Learning is great on its own but then, I think it's always better to be passionate about whatever you want to learn because by so doing, it makes you forge ahead even when it becomes frustrating to you.

Thanks for reading and have a nice day

You must learn activities that are to your liking, I am not saying that sometimes you will learn things that are not pleasant, what happens is that learning becomes difficult when we do it without liking. Although I like music I can't study with it because I would concentrate more on the song, its rhythm, its lyrics, and not on what I am studying.

When I follow a tutorial on youtube, I don't get things so well 😬😬.

You won't believe it if I said the first learning tip I gave in my post based on the experience have had was "Know yourself". When I saw it listed in this post I was surprised 😅.

People often imitate others ways of doing things without considering what works for them first, night reading is not for everyone but some people will still force themselves to read at night at the end they would not be able to assimilate anything.

Jeez... I guess they have been singing the "Know yourself" anthem for a while now but it's honestly true sha.... Everything gets easier when you know exactly what works best for you

Knowing yourself and what works for you will really help one in learning faster rather than trying to follow the crowds. While I was still in school, I preferred learning early in the morning between 4 to 6am. That way, I'm able to grab things faster and retain it in my memory. So, if I follow night readers, I will only end up sleeping for my dear life 🤣.

One can only learn when he has passion for what he wants to learn. I'm quite sure you will be able to learn the guitar judging from your interest in it.

Indeed, the sleep when you go for those night classes and it's not your thing is always amazing 😂😂, the person will sleep all through the night there and when he comes back, he will start the main sleep... What a waste😂

Hopefully, I just need to balance things out and do the guitar stuff
Thanks for coming around

Learning something new can be so exhausting. but when one is consistent, at the end he or she would be proud they never gave up.
