Let's Deal With The Realistic Subject

Teaching is a noble profession such that it's impact in our lives, families, governments and worldwide as a whole cannot be overemphasized.

They are the mothers of every other profession.

Teaching is both an art and science too.

The art aspect of teaching is exhibited by the teachers coming to our classroom and teaching us how things are done ( the mathematics teacher teaches you how to solve questions, the English teacher teaches you how to pronounce their words and so does Igbo, Yoruba and Hausa teachers do also )

The Science aspect of teaching is shown at various occasions where you see the teacher doing a research and taking survey on the students performances and grading them in his or her head, knowing exactly where every student belongs and trying to bring them up to a greater standard ( from below average to average).

He goes extra mile explaining a particular topic to particular set of Students even when others have understood the topic because he knows the abilities of his or her Students.

Now, if I am given the opportunity to pick a subject I'll teach in school haven done many subjects to attain to the level I am now, it is definitely going to be Economics.

HiveDivider_sm.png

My Reasons for choosing Economics

  • IT IS NOT ABSTRACT

Unlike most subjects taught in school that aren't relatable to life experiences ( like further mathematics) and some others that we witness once in a while during our school days* ( like seeing effervescence only in chemistry lab)*, Economics is a subject that is following you around everywhere you go.

You go to the market and it's there

You are writing your budget and it's there

You are planning for your house that you want to build and it's there to guide you through the saving periods.

A subject that is easily relatable makes teaching fun.

This is because while teaching and you want to paint a picture that will help explain what you are teaching very well, there are many illustrations as regards to explaining Economics.

photo-1569180880150-df4eed93c90b.jpeg

Just for instance, while explaining Opportunity Costs, you can easily paint a picture of someone who went to market to buy some foodstuffs and food spices but ended up buying foodstuffs alone without spices not buying food spices because the money was not enough but with his knowledge of Scale of Preference, he bought the most important ones..... That makes it very easy to explain because it is what we experience from day to day.

  • RESEARCH IS EASY

Continuous research in a particular field always helps to bring out new and quality information about a particular subject.
The research in the Economics field as a subject is very easy and this helps me in my teaching to make sure that my students are up to date with the information they need.

This will prepare them as not just National students but rather international students that will be able to compete everywhere and anywhere they find themselves in.

  • COPY LESS NOTE

You've ever been to biology classes?
I was literally crying everytime my biology teacher steps in for her teachings.
Most times, she keeps writing on the board and her time gets exhausted without her teaching.

I love Economics because there is very little to be written and more to explain. Instead of copying notes the whole day without even understanding most things they've written, the Students will focus on listening and gaining the proper information.

  • IN-DEPTH CALCULATION SKILL IS NOT REQUIRED

One of the greatest joy of a teacher is when his students understand and can defend themselves in whatever topic he taught them.

Unlike most subjects that require a great deal of IQ to be good in especially in subjects that requires calculation, calculations in Economics are very easy to solve because they are relatable with life experiences.
This will make even the dumbest in the class to understand what is been discussed about.

  • INCREASES BUSINESS SKILL

As an Economics teacher, I will be delighted that I will be teaching students techniques on how to face the real world.

Economics is a subject that will help them understand that whatever decision the government takes will have consequences as regards to their financial strength and amidst those situations, they will remember what I've taught them.

They will know practical ways of getting money work for them rather than just speaking about how to do it with without any knowledge of getting it done.

HiveDivider_sm.png

Teaching mathematics or health Education or biology, chemistry and physics or any other subject at all are all geared towards providing money for you which economics will teach you how to use effectively, hahaha.

This is a well-written and informative piece about the importance of teaching as a noble profession. You highlighted the two aspects of teaching: art and science. They have also shared their personal preference for teaching Economics as a subject and provided compelling reasons for their choice.

I appreciate how you explained that Economics is a subject that is relatable to everyday life, making it easy to teach and learn. They have provided excellent examples of how teaching Economics can be made more practical and engaging by linking it to real-life experiences. Also the continuous research in the field of Economics to stay updated with new and relevant information. And pointing out the advantage of teaching a subject like Economics that requires less note-taking and more focus on listening and understanding.

Teaching Economics in terms of helping students develop critical thinking skills and understand the impact of government decisions on financial stability. Overall, this piece provides a well-rounded perspective on the importance of teaching and how it can have a positive impact on society.

Wow... I am very delighted seeing the way you took your time to read my post and drop an encouraging comment @robert0z
I really appreciate appreciate.

Economics is very relatable and that is why I love it above all things and then for the fact that it teaches us with real life experience is another great thing.

Thanks a lot for this

Hello @sperosamuel15 a pleasure to greet you. Interesting publication in its content. You make a dissertation and contrast on education and the teaching learning process in different professions. I express you that any profession can have the dynamism and action that you express of the economy. As for the teaching-learning process, it depends a lot on the interaction between teachers and students. In biology and other hard sciences, it is necessary to generate great creativity through the didactics of science, to condition the dynamism and take them out of the lethargy that often underlies them.
Until another time.

Great comment my dear.
I really appreciate your visit here in my blog.

it is necessary to generate great creativity through the didactics of science, to condition the dynamism and take them out of the lethargy that often underlies them.

I solely agree with this...
For biology, once a nice picture has been painted and the students can easily relate to it, it replaces the lethargy with passion and then interest.
Nothing beats creating a mental picture or a pictorial view of what we are explaining.

Thanks once again
Until next time👍

I agree with your comment, it has scientific, pedagogical and didactic support. Students have three forms of learning: visual, auditory and kinesthetic, where one of them predominates over the others; for the "hard" sciences, among them biology, visual learning must be stimulated and predominate; this is achieved by structuring schemes and images play a primordial role in the process.
Thanks once again
Until next time

Economics is not a bad, though it's not my things because I literally detest calculations, but there was a time I had to borrow a science course and it happens to be Economics, I almost died of worrisome because I don't know how to go about it. But thank God for the Economists in the building, my economist neighbor helped me out.

It's good to know your love for the economics subject, and thank you for sharing your thoughts about it benefits, especially that money part😅

Economics is a very realistic subject and it is relatable to our everyday financial activity. The importance of economics as a subject can't be quantified and I believe you can do a pretty good job since you understand the scope and importance of it.

Omo!!! You almost made me changed my favorite subject to economics with those points..

Teaching is a wonderful thing, without it there wouldn't have been any other profession at all. Literally everything we are doing today was taught us by someone, be it handwork or white collar job. Without teachers the world is doomed.

Economics is something we do everyday. Without a good knowledge of economics we would be in danger of being cheated financially. I love economics too, the woman who taught me, made us all loved the subject because of how good she teaches.

It seems you're not in good terms with my biology abi? The note isn't that much na😂😂

Hehe. I see the love for economics here. But you are right though. It is in our everyday life. As long as we need to survive with money, we need economics. It has always been one of my favorite subjects. I always passed it with ease.

Tell me you love Economics without telling me you love Economics. I remember having a wonderful Economics teacher. She made me love Economics so much, that I almost studied it in the University.
And yes, Economics is a wonderful and even easy subject because it's not abstract from the things we see everyday. Nice write up.🌺

Your rendition of economics makes me think I have been misjudging what this subject is about. I always ran away from anything calculation no matter how small. You definitely love your subject!

Yes, I really love Economics ☺️.
Economics is actually fun even from the name, what were your fears about the subject?

The calculations in Economics could be barely called calculation Because they are very very easy

Glad @dreemport brought you here and I am happy you enjoyed reading.

Until next time, take care👍
