The Private School I Went Is Nice But Could Be Better
Take me back to the good old days, hehe.
It was fun back in the days in my primary school.... This was because I went to a private school but then we enjoyed most of the privileges of the government schools enjoy also because we shared the same compound.
I attended private schools for both my primary and secondary school education but currently attending a public university for my tertiary education currently.
I enjoyed and I am still enjoying my schooling if I am asked despite having experienced both.
For the benefits of my type of schooling, I'll pick the private school since it's obviously the one I went to the more...
- Students Improvement Oriented:
The private schools are more focused on the students improvement. The private schools ceteris paribus have by far less population of students when compared to the public schools.
This enables the teachers to handle the students better and monitor their progress since they always have direct contact with the students...... They know when a student needs extra assistance and they will be willing to give that student the assistance and by so doing, the students gets better.
- Diligence And Dedication Of Staffs:
It's no news that the staffs of private schools are by far more dedicated and diligent to their works.... This is because their promotion and increase in salary comes with the output the school management feels you're making.
They take their job seriously to come out with the best results unlike the public schools where regardless of your output, regardless of you coming or not, you will be paid.
- PTA Meetings Are Taken Seriously:
The Parents and Teachers Association meeting held once every session is taken seriously in the private schools unlike the government or public schools.
By so doing, parents will have an avenue to contribute to the growth of the school and also have a place to constructively criticise the administration of the school...
By so doing, the school gets better and the students benefit better.
- Excursions And Other Extracurricular Activities:
All works and no play makes jack a dull boy....
The public schools doesn't care about this to the best of my knowledge but then it's almost like a norm every session for private schools.
This helps expose the students to a lot of places asides the four walls of the school.
Travelling is also a part of education and the students benefit this in private schools.
It's easier to see various playing grounds filled with many games' equipments in private schools for example table tennis, long tennis, badminton, basketball and volleyball unlike the government schools that only has a low standard football pitch since they keep waiting for the government to release money before any project they do and we know how long that could be in our country Nigeria.
- Affected Less By Holidays:
The private schools are by far less affected by the series of holidays that affects the Government schools.
The government schools are very diverse in their admission of students and as such strive to always make sure that no race is cheated and less respected and because of that, they will go on holidays when the Hausas, Yorubas and Igbos ( names of various ethnic groups in Nigeria) have any big occasion just to mention but a few unlike the private school where the final decision is made by the administration of the school.
Well, my primary and secondary schools were honestly very superb but then there can still be "a more superber" school if they touch a few things....
- Increase The Staffs Pay:
It's no news that the staffs of private schools despite their dedication, discipline, experience and expertise still receive very small salary for their works.
It will really be good if their salary structure is reviewed and they get to be upgraded so that they will be happier doing their job and enjoy their blessings on earth too as they anticipate the heavenly one.
- Reduce The Registration Fee:
Well, this might look like a counter act to the point above but then I don't know how they intend doing that but the registration fee of new students should be reduced a little bit.
Private schools are very costly that most patients are tempted to withdraw their children from there despite how good the private schools are to the public schools so that they will have a breathing space in financial billings.
- Increase the Staffs:
Again, Private Schools are mostly short staffed and you see a particular staff teaching both physics and biology...
This is really an area I will like them to change as it's too demanding and stressful on the staff and will also affect the students to some extent.
Education and the environment of the schools is really a great factor to consider especially during the formative lives of children as this is the period when they can easily be influenced by the good or the bad lifestyles of the society.
Public schools are good if you could find very great ones, private schools are also fantastic if you did your research well and they offer what you desire too but in all, just give those unborn ones the best education there ever is (for the single Pringles)
