The Smiling Plasmodium || Blood capsule, Vitamin C and ACT

(Edited)

Let me guide you through a fun fact about these drug combinations.... You may learn something new so read down carefully

Looking closely above, you will believe with me that those (ACT, Vitamin C and Blood Capsules/ Tonics) in combination with antibiotics and analgesics are drugs used in treating Malaria caused by the Plasmodium falciparum organism using female Anopheles Mosquito as vector.

Now tell me why exactly will the Plasmodium falciparum actually meant to be killed by these drugs be smiling when you take them?

Continue down to know why😍

Once the infectivity dosage of P.falciparum is reached, it triggers the series of symptoms and signs that we know comes with malaria (fever, lethargy, nausea and vomiting e.t.c)

While treating Malaria, most of us are also given Blood tonics/ Blood Capsules and Vitamin C together with the Anti malarial drugs and some of the pharmacists or chemists as the case maybe fail to let us know taking all of them together is actually counterproductive and we end up taking the three drugs together..... The Plasmodium falciparum must really be glad whenever you do this

Let's take them one after the other:

  • The Plasmodium falciparum

This is a parasite that really loves iron. The young ones in the presence of iron develops into adult faster than normal to show you the extent of love they have for the nutrient

They go as far as lysing the red blood cells to get these irons .
For this very reason is why patients suffering from long standing malaria disease without treatment may become anaemic with time.

  • Antimalarials

ACT means Artemisinin-based combination therapies, which included the Artemether and Amodiaquine family and others contained in the various Antimalarial drugs we buy.

These drugs works by releasing superoxide agents that helps to kill these plasmodium falciparum parasites in our blood and reduce their number hence reducing their effects on us and subsequently reducing the symptoms they cause which invariably means us recovering from the malaria we are suffering.

  • The Vitamin C

Vitamin C is an essential vitamin that helps the absorption of iron in the body ( this means that when Vitamin C is available, the iron in the body will be rapidly absorbed.... Let's say it kinda acts as a catalyst)

These Vitamins are also antioxidants and recall that antimalarial drugs act by releasing superoxides to kill these plasmodium falciparum parasites and when we take them together with these vitamin Cs, they end up making the net equation zero.

Superoxide + Antioxidants = 0

You See How Counterproductive Your Treatment Is?

  • The Blood Tonics/ Blood Capsules:

Just like the name implies, they are haematinics.

They help boost our blood especially when we fear we are getting anemic.

This is a very good drug for someone not suffering from malaria but it is a very bad combination for treating Malaria.

Remember the Plasmodium falciparum goes as far as lysing the blood to get the iron it needs?

When we take blood tonics, we are invariably feeding the plasmodium parasite.

We take the blood tonics/ capsules, they help boost the blood we have and then the parasite gets more blood to Lyse and see more iron hence increasing in number.

Stop Feeding Plasmodium Please!

ADVICE

Antimalarial drugs are always a 3day treatment therapy,

When you are done taking them with just the Analgesic and antibiotic of your choice, kindly take a break for atleast two to three days before starting the Vitamin C and Blood Capsules/ Tonics.

By doing this, they get to give you a 100% on what you took them for.

The pharmaceutical industry tends to study drugs in isolation. What we need is better understand of the interaction of drugs.

So each of the medicines affect the metabolism of iron. Malaria also likes iron. So the drugs in combination counter act each other.

BTW: You probably should change the line that begins with

Vitamin C is an element

I realize you are using "element" as a generic pronoun which is fine in casual converation, but the term "element" has a specific meaning in chemistry.

I don't know the best classification for vitamin C. People often refer to it as a nutrient or a chemical compound.

So the drugs in combination counter act each other

Exactly.. thereby looking as if we aren't treating at all

Oh, about the Vitamin C
I actually had difficulty with that, Vitamins are nutrients ideally but I was just looking for a way to make even those not science inclined to have a flow of the post but now that you have said it, I will change it

Thanks a lot for the correction... I appreciate both your coming around, support and corrections

Hmmmm... This is very insightful and it's so sad that something like this usually exists as a common error especially when you are dealing with the self acclaimed chemists we see by the roadside.

It's weird how people end up spending so much for treatment, but what they are taking as treatment is actually counterproductive. So weird!

Nice to get this expository content from you. Keep it up ✌️. !hiqvote

You're welcome bro
Glad you found it useful
The more we write about it, the more people know about it too and u think by doing that, we will get everyone to know about it sooner or later

Sure thing. Information is power. These sort of information is considered priceless and it will go a long way in helping us make the right choices when taking these drugs

Nice walkthrough of many supplements. I usually try to assume them in the most natural form possible, so fruit and vegetables. I am sure that they are the most assimilable form for our body.

Hmmm I learned a lot from this post
Really don't know all of this for real all thanks to this post because I am the type that loves to take all this medicine at once instead of giving it a break like you have explained

Some of the drug to drug interactions are really bad, so I believe you'll stop it
