🐍 Landlord's Fishing Net Kills Snakes and Fish 🐠 Nothing Eaten, Only Waste 🐟

I don’t know what time my landlords put fishing net in the canal, but yesterday in the morning I saw them go to the canal near my apartment and my little girl went with them also. After she come home and tell me, "Mom come to look!"

I said "Look at what?" She said, "Go to look at snakes over there 👉🏼." I said, "Go to look at snakes, no I don’t go, and you stay inside the apartment." She said "It’s ok Mom, our landlord and the gardener are over there too, and I see fish and two snakes." I wonder what they are doing over there, so I went to look too.

Oh I understand now, they put fishing net for catching fish, but they got snakes also. I think the snakes saw the fish in the net make, and it make them want to eat fish but they don’t know this is dangerous for them.

This is a red and black snack that die already.

This is a yellow and black snake that not yet die. I am not scared of them because I know from my landlord, he said they don’t have poison but I still feel a little bit scared of them.

This is bringing me childhood memories. I used a fishing net with my brother in the rainy season. We walked far away from our house for putting the fishing net somewhere to catch fish.

Some days it was raining all day and we stay over there to catch fish, and we stay wet all day. When evening we go home with so many fish and sometimes we get snakes, crabs and frogs too. I used to even eat all those things before. I was about 10-11 years old at that time.

This fish is a big fish but my landlord don’t use it because it’s dead a long time already and has a bad smell also.

I asked him, "Why don’t you give it to your dogs?" He said, "No my dogs eat cooked food like us. Really, it's true, I even see him cook chicken for his dogs. Have a nice weekend everyone.

It's so sad to see people practice such wasteful ways. I don't have a problem with fishing, but if it kills other beings that they just throw away (not even for their dogs) it makes me upset.

Yes man, I feeling the same you, I try comment to him if you don’t eat, why you don’t take them to for your dogs but he said no. I think because he is rich so he don’t care about food and he did it for enjoy. I feel upset if he don’t want eat why he don’t take them to cook for the dogs or chop them for his chicken. He chose doesn’t do anything is throw away near the canal. I asked myself if they don’t eat why kills them? I don’t understand some people. I am too don’t have a problems with fishing and I used to did it before also but I have never waste. I don’t want to write about my feelings in this post because I don’t want to make some people feel not good because me. The some people think that is nature or because they are animals. Yes it’s right they are animals, animals are food for humans, it’s true but if you kill them you need to eat them or do something with them, don’t throw away. I hope you understand about I mean. !ENGAGE 20

I completely understand. And I feel responsible, as I believe we all are as a species. We have the ability to kill, so we need to do it in the right way, for the right reason, responsibly. So don't worry that some people may feel "bad". If they know that they have killed wastefully, they should feel bad, reflect on it, and hopefully learn from it. If they have seen someone else do it, and not spoken out, once again, they should reflect on our collective responsibility. However, if they can relate to what you've said, I'm sure it will make them feel good about themselves.

Those snakes are long. Great that they aren’t poisonous.

If he isn't using the fish, it can be buried in the soil in the garden (or anywhere) to give nutrients to the soil! There is a YouTuber in Australia who talks about doing things like that in his garden that I've seen. At least that way, even if it's already turning bad and smells, it isn't a complete waste.
Did he let the alive snake go? Or did he eat the snakes?

That's great! I asked him already, he doesn’t eat snakes and he eats only fresh fish, yesterday afternoon I go to looks fishing net I see two snakes and fish still in over there, he doesn’t do anything. In Cambodia, if we put a fishing net and if dead fish has a little bit smells like that we take it to make fish sauce or we make Brahok. And if we have duck, we chop it for duck eat. We never waste maybe we are poor countries or these are habits. Thank so much for the good comment. !ENGAGE 40

I used to get snakes in my garden all the time. Even cobras. I have gotten used to them and am not afraid anymore. I just worry about my dogs getting a little too close.
