Al-Attiyah still leads Dakar Rally 2023 after first full week of competition

Hi, friends!

There is eight special stages behind the competitors on this year's Dakar Rally and it seems that this year it was much harder then on the previous occasion in 2022. May the floods took its tall because some special stages had to be shortened then usually because we know that Dakar is all about marathon stages of more then 300 or 400km.

Nasser Al-Attiyah showed once again that he became a king of Dakar Rally in the last six or seven years. He just has his own rhythm and doesn't care too much about anything else.

Maybe that is the best way to win this hardest motorsport event on the Earth because you know how they say - To win, you must finish first (come to an end).

South-African Henk Lategan is a revelation of the rally so far because he holds 2nd place overall after eight special stages and he is around 16m ahead of another Toyota Hilux driver L. Moraes.

Nine-time World Rally champion Seb Loeb improved the performance of hid BRX Hunter and now lays in 4th place overall after all dramas he had with mechanical problems. He is now 1h52m behind leader Nasser Al-Attiyah.

Giniel de Villiers is another Toyota driver who is now in 5th place overall and it is interesting that there are four Toyota Hilux cars plus one BRX Hunter in the top 5 overall.

Let the best win - as always...
