Czech youngster Cais enters WRC2 championship with Ford Fiesta Rally2

Czech young gun Erik Cais showed really great improvement in 2021 when he fought for the overall win at Barum Rally which is an event of the European Rally Championship.

He lost tthat fight crashing on the last special stage of the rally but after that he decided to try even harder.

He entered after that three major rallies, two from the ERC series and one of the World Rally Championship. He finished Rally de Fafe, Portuguese event of the European Rally Championship in 7th place. After that it was WRC Catalunya Rally Spain where he contested in the WRC2 class for the first time and finished 13th overall and 3rd in the WRC2 class.

I guess that was the boost for him to enter that class for this season's championship. After Catalunya Rally Spain he was also present at ERC Rally Hungary where he claimed another 7th place.

That shows us that where he can learn the special stages to the maximum, he can fight for the leading positions. But where he can not pass the stages numerous times, there are problems of memorizing them and that's why he finished only 7th on two ERC rallies after the top performance at his home rally.

He showed the livery of his Ford Fiesta Rally2 and because it's been done now, it is highly probably that we will see him at the start line of Monte Carlo Rallye 2022 which starts in ten days.
