Does Oliver Solberg deserve his place in Hyundai works Rally1 car?

Hi, friends!

This is the place that every hard core rally fan ask himself these days because this young lad again didn't show enough to finally be 'nominated' as someone who deserves his seat at such a big rally team as Hyundai World Rally Team.

My opinion is that this young lad would never be part of the big team if it wasn't to his father Petter, ex-World Rally Champion from season 2003. OK, maybe this kid will show something better in the future outings but Rally Monte Carlo outing was kinda disaster from him.

He was all the time saying that he can feel fumes inside of his Hyundai i20 Rally1 and it repeated after every single service where top mechanics of their team didn't find or repair the car. Don't forget that only the best mechanics work in a team like this so it is really unbelievable that they didn't find the cause of the problem during the whole weekend.

OK, let's put that problems aside. But what about his pace?
His pace was not on the level which is expected from the driver of the caliber which every works team needs. I think that Dani Sordo would do much better then Solberg jr and, as I said earlier, he is inside of the works car only because of the name his has and not because of the results.

Just to remind you that he had more DNF's (did not finish) then finished rallies in 2021. Every other driver would be sidelined but not Solberg ju because Petter Solberg is still someone in the world of rallying.

We all know that Solberg jr is Swede (because of mother, his father is Norwegian) and that means that his next outing will be in Sweden the next month. He should start to deliver results immediately because Hyundai doesn't stand good with manufacturer's points.
