FIA revealed Monte Carlo Rallye 2022 entry list
Hi, friends!
It's finally here! After two months of season break after WRC Rally Monza in November, new World Rally Championship season starts next week with the most famous rally (beside Dakar, of course) - Monte Carlo Rallye.
It is a dream of every rally driver on the globe to win this rally because it is just prestigious. First time it has been run in 1911 and I must say also that I was entered for the 2011 edition but it was 305 entrants and there was only 100 crews listed for the start. But it is an amazing feeling when official mails start to come from the Monte organizer ACM. I am proud only with entering that rally more then decade ago. I guess that driving those special stages would be something I would probably never forget - as experience of a lifetime.
Show must go on. New edition is in front of us and FIA revealed an entry list of the rally with no surprises. But if there are so of the surprises, I will write about them in the days to follow.
It will be interesting how the new technology follow technical difficulties because crews won't have any service break during the whole day one. It would be really interesting to see some of the top Rally2 crews in the top five if will be tech issues with the hybrid Rally1 class cars.
Just to remind you that these cars don't have any official outing, just lots of testing miles, nothing else.
Who to watch and follow?
I guess two Sebs - Ogier and Loeb because two of them have probably 15 wins on Monte. They are again in the different sides of the service park - Ogier still with Toyota and Loeb with M-Sport Ford for the first time in his career.
But any of the drivers can surprise. It is shame that we won't see Dani Sordo at Monte because he is the driver who almost never retires and that is something to have in every team on the MUST detail.
It will also be interesting to see how will do young Oliver Solberg with the works Hyundai after he competed with 2C Competition car last season.
