Onboard rally video of the day - Andreas Mikkelsen with Hyundai i20 WRC at Monte Carlo Rallye 2018

Hi, friends!

Andreas Mikkelsen retired from the Dakar Rally after being entered for the rally in the last moment because of the driver who was entered originally being tested positive on covid-19. Mikkeslen doesn't have an experience with the cross-country rallying and the early retirement for sure result of that.

His rolled his OT3 small rally car and bent the roll-cage and with that you can't continue the rally. These are the rules and you can't argue with that. Security of the crew is and should be on the first place in the motorsport.

At least he will have more time to prepare for this year's Monte Carlo Rallye which starts on January 20th. I must say that I am very excited about the first rally with the new hybrid technology which was just introduced to the sport.

Mikkelsen will defend his WRC2 title with Toksport and the car will be again Škoda Fabia Rally2, probably the most reliable Rally2/R5 car around.

I chose Mikkelsen's onboard video from his days with Hyundai works team. If you want to learn how to drive super fast on the snowy and icy tarmac, there is no better video then this because you can see the road, his legs and how he controls the gas and brake pedals plus his work with the hands.

You can easily see that when he starts to lose the control of the car, he just press clutch and the car is back on the line and in the control. Don't forget that he is driving with the studded tires and only this way you can go fast on this slippery surface.

One more thing - this car is also four wheel drive. Don't try this with tires for summer/spring because you will be out of the road in just a sec. If you drive with the winter tires, be careful because Mikkelsen is a professional and just an example how to drive fast on the famous roads of Monte Carlo Rallye.

Enjoy the onboard... :)
