Onboard rally video of the day - Armin Schwarz with Škoda Fabia WRC at WRC Rally Germany

Hi, friends!

Škoda Motorsport made really impressive results with any lower category then the WRC where they had really bad results. I remember when they introduced big Octavia WRC model at the end of the nineties and we were all thinking if that big car can make anything good in the World Rally Championship.

I must admit that this model of Octavia WRC was really robust and it could suffer toughest terrains like Safari Rally in Kenya where they finished 3rd overall. I think that their leadership was always cheap with the budget and you just can't make something big at the top of the motorsport without investing and without a big budget because you have a competition which doesn't save to make to the top..

That was always missing at Škoda and even when Colin McRae started to put great times on the special stages in Wales and Australia, the retired at Australia because of the bad moves from their mechanics. They were kinda losers. They just didn't believe in themself enough and that's why they left the sport at the end of 2005.

When I think about all that time, I can see that they were really connected with Armin Schwarz who stayed with the team until the end. He has only one win in WRC and that was in 1991 at Catalunya with Toyota Celia Group A.

He had lots of top drives with different manufacturers but couldn't make something more of his career. I guess that he was lucky to have a job in rallying at the top. I watched him live at Bettega Memorial in Bologna, Italy and the end of 2001, when he drove for Hyundai works team. He was quick and performed really well.

Today we have his onboard rally video with the Škoda Fabia WRC, one of the worse WRC cars in the complete history of the championship. The event was tarmac rally of Germany, his home round of the World Rally Championship.

Please enjoy...
