Peterhansel crashed out of Dakar Rally 2023

Hi, friends!

Fourteen-time winner of Dakar Rally Stephane Peterhansel has crashed out of this year's Dakar Rally after not that good event for him because he didn't win a single special stage this year.

OK, it was only six special stages so far and the last one came to an end after they jumped on the dune and landed very badly. His co-driver Edouard Boulanger hurt his back in an accident and Peterhansel fainted and when he woke up, he saw his co-driver laying down in front of their Audi electric rally car. That was it from them for Dakar 2023.

Their team-mate Carlos Sainz sr crashed out at the same place but with the lower speed and that's why the damage was also not that bad. They broke their suspension but with the help of their truck, they repaired the damage and got to the end of the special stage. Do I have to say that he is out of top 10 right now?!

Nasser Al-Attiyah won again today's special stage and now has more then hour of an advantage over South-African Henk Lategan (I wrote about him two days ago) in another Toyota.

Third overall is reserved (for now) for Lucas Moraes in another Toyota and I must admit that I never heard for this driver before but this is a great result for him if he can keep like this until the end of the rally.

Seb Loeb had a nice day today with 2nd fastest time, around 3m of Al-Attiyah but Loeb admitted that he didn't take any bigger risk today which is obviously the way to go sometimes. With all the problems he had this week, he is now 6th overall. He could easily climb even higher because the rally is just in the middle of itself.

Mattias Ekstrom is the highest placed Audi driver and he is 5th overall at the moment 1h46m of the leading pace.

Let the best win - as always...
