(Edited)

Previously I had the opportunity to review the anime of Fate Zero, and I also mentioned that I would like to talk chronologically in terms of plot, I repeat, chronologically in terms of plot, about these routes which will be the main routes, so as not to deviate so much my main intention was to talk about these main routes and make their respective review, as well as I get to do with Baki or Dragon Ball and their movies to give some examples, I plan to do the same here and if in such a case at the end of this process I get the attention to talk about other series certainly linked to this franchise, but in alternative versions or worlds I will do it, which I plan to do with one, now having explained this let's move on to this anime in question.

This anime for me, has a nostalgic factor something special for several factors, first an opening that for me is not only good if not emblematic since it could be said that it is par excellence the first Fate which is animated, and is taken from the novel, another factor would be the introduction and interaction of the emblematic characters that make up these routes, and that will take weight in following works related to the work and another point would be their interactions, eye in these points I speak in a nostalgic and emotional way before this, later in addition to this I will give more details about that and about its animation and more in that time as well as I will also give myself the task of explaining, what are the routes? , and if it is worth watching this anime because it has points where it falters so it will be a pleasure for me to bring you this time, to him anime of Fate/stay night.

Before delving into this series, I will take the task of specifying what I mean by the term "routes" in this franchise, so that you have a solid idea and know what I mean, anyway I feel that I will also have to make a certain summary about it in each review, mostly for information purposes, you could say that the routes are so to speak the paths taken by the protagonist through a more genuine interaction with a specific character which takes a super relevant performance. In the case of this anime which is the adaptation of the novel with the same name (Fate / stay night) shows us how the protagonist Shirou tries to formalize a love interest with his servant class know, in another route such principle is noted but with another character and so on to complete the 3 main routes, this type of actions in each route certainly makes them change greatly the events and the development of the same, which provides a certain variety in the plot that is presented at the time.

Having clarified that, I should mention that in terms of nostalgia and affection I have a good estimation of this series, first and foremost because it was the first anime adaptation of the novel at the time of 2006, I understand that for the current date its animation at this point declined quite a lot, but you also have to take into consideration the time and that the studio at the time the Studio deen did not have both the level of experience in my opinion, curiously all this began to improve in such an incredible way when the studio Ufotable took the reins and presented Fate Zero, that is why at this point I in particular agree with the remake of this specific route by this studio, the plot certainly takes fixed elements of the novel but some aspects are omitted or changed, but I will talk more in detail about this a little later.

This anime was one of the first I saw, linked to this franchise when I was a pre teenager, a cousin on my maternal family's side, was the one who lent me at the time the dvds of this anime and there I went when I saw it, I remember that at the time I found it very entertaining, certainly having a lack of knowledge about the visual novels and that world, it was much later when I grew up and in the year of 2018 after watching Fate Zero and follow chronologically the routes I remembered when I saw it long ago and now everything made sense hahaha, that's why for me it has some affection however I will be as objective as possible, as I have seen criticisms and positions specifying that this is one of the worst Fates, but I personally do not think so much so, perhaps a little below other series of this franchise as they did bad things, but in terms of representation of the novel were at best decent, but first let's talk about the animation.

The animation is a very old animation, certainly you can not get to compare this with current works of this franchise from Fate Zero to Heaven Feel, but for its date I repeat for its date it was for my acéptale something not very outstanding or above but not super horrible and dreadful, there are people who complain a lot about this since at that time there were other series or movies, which showed a superior performance at this point, but this would obviously fall for the animation studio as such in charge of those projects, they have every reason to complain and their position is respected because I am one of those who would like to see a remake by Ufotable with this route, but well it is more facial to say it than to do it, at this point and for the time the animation by today's standards if it is something bad, or very very very very outdated.

In relation to the plot, well as you may already know, the events presented here occur 10 years after what happened in Fate Zero, in this route as the main route of Saber in which the protagonist Shirou tries to reach her in a romantic way, it could be said that in terms of plot there are points and aspects of which were modified from the visual novel, making it in some sections a kind of combination of other routes along with this one, to give it more intrigue but for me what they did was to ruin it although in essence it certainly follows the line that is presented in the novel, But such changes what they did was to worsen the series, beyond this there are dialogues and acceptable interactions showing the variety of characters that we will see in other routes, and their intentions in a nostalgic way has weight the latter for me but being objective this final work and for such a late date does not rival what is currently presented although they have moments that can be rescued or accepted in quotation marks, in terms such as principles, positions, thoughts among other things that make up the characters and interactions, and not to mention the erotic factor here.

To conclude this review, is it worth watching Fate/stay night? my answer is yes to understand what happened in Saber's route and to have a broader understanding and I wouldn't recommend watching it after watching Fate Zero, I personally would recommend watching this last, although the chronological line would be to watch Fate Zero > stay night > unlimited blade works > heavens feels, here I would make an exception and jump to the other routes that follow and leave stay night last, for that reason it is a very old animation and I know that for the current audience, it may make them lose interest if they like Fate Zero and want to continue, although the dialogues are its densest points and therefore also longer and I understand if for that part it can get boring or heavy, although I must say that once they finish both zero and stay night, in terms of characters they will understand a lot of things. And with this I end this review of today, for the next review I will play Unlimited Bladeworks and there things will change a lot, I'll get to it when I'm more free, without more to say thank you for reading and get here without more to say until next time.
