And we continue with the reviews of the Saint Seiya franchise, unlike the Dragon Ball franchise which had a large number of movies, of which I could only choose to review those that had a significant impact on me, in the Saint Seiya franchise the opposite happens in that sense based on their quantity, since there really are not as many as you might think and although they are certainly entertaining and show us a variety of techniques in this aspect, either more than anything by the enemies or opponents of turns accompanied by great musical themes, the truth is that the plot can become somewhat and only somewhat monotonous to follow the same dynamics of rescuing Saori the reincarnation of Athena, but it is a point that I will talk about later, this time the movie that I bring is one of my favorites, either by changes of scenarios, the voice or the seiju in Japanese of the villain on duty, great raw fights and a colorful animation more than accept it.

Y continuamos con las reseñas de la franquicia de Saint Seiya, a diferencia de la franquicia de Dragon Ball la cual contaba con una basta cantidad de películas, de las cuales solo pude llegar a optar por reseñar aquellas que tuvieron un impacto significativo en mi, en la franquicia de Saint Seiya pasa lo opuesto en ese sentido en base a su cantidad, ya que realmente no son tantas como se podía pensar y aunque ciertamente son entretenidas y nos muestran una gran variedad de técnicas en este aspecto, ya sea más que nada por los enemigos o adversarios de turnos acompañados de grandes temas musicales, la verdad es que la trama puede llegar a ser un tanto y solo un tanto monótona al seguir la misma dinámica de rescatar a Saori la reencarnación de Atenea, pero es un punto del cual hablare mas adelante, esta vez la película que les traigo es una de mis favoritas, ya sea por cambios de escenarios, la voz o el seiju en japonés del villano de turno, grandes peleas crudas y una animación colorida más que acéptale.

Cabe mencionar que gran parte de los acontecimientos que se mostraran en esta película así como en las que faltan por ser reseñadas, no son canonícas, es decir que su trama no está ligada de alguna forma a la línea principal de las sagas y ocurren en una línea alternativa en este caso la saga de asgard así que sin mas preámbulo esta vez les traigo saint seiya y la batalla de los dioses.

The zodiac knights and the great battle of the gods in Spanish America or as it is known colloquially in Japan as, Saint Seiya: Kamigami no atsuki tatakai and translated and in that language Saint Seiya: The fiery battle of the gods, is considered as the second film of the franchise, being this released on March 12, 1988.

Directed by Shigeyasu Yamauchi and scripted by Takao Koyama and music by Seiji Yokoyama, the animation studio in charge is Toei animation.

Los caballeros del zodiaco y la gran batalla de los dioses en Hispanoamérica o como se le conoce coloquialmente en Japón como, Saint Seiya: Kamigami no atsuki tatakai y traducido ya en dicho idioma Saint Seiya: La ardiente batalla de los dioses, viene siendo considerada como la segunda película de dicha franquicia, siendo esta estrenada el 12 de marzo de 1988.

Contando con la dirección de Shigeyasu Yamauchi y el guion por parte de Takao Koyama y la música de Seiji Yokoyama, el estudio de animación encargado es Toei animation.

Synopsis / Sinopsis

At first we are presented with an icy and dangerous environment in which we see Hyoga (swan knight) helping a guy being attacked by a band of bandits, to rescue him he warns about a situation in Asgard, then we are transported to where Saori and his bronze knights, which discuss about the absence of Hyoga something that is usually worrying for them, so they decide to go to the lands of Asgard to know about his whereabouts, however upon reaching the area things will gradually become more suspicious and dangerous in many ways.

A primera instancia se nos presenta un amiente gélido y peligroso en el cual vemos a Hyoga (caballero del cisne) ayudar a un sujeto al ser atacado por una banda de bandidos, al rescatarlo este le advierte sobre una situación en Asgard, acto seguido nos transportamos a donde Saori y sus caballeros de bronce, los cuales discuten sobre la ausencia de Hyoga algo que suele ser preocupante para ellos, así que estos deciden ir a las tierras de Asgard para saber sobre su paradero, sin embargo al llegar a dicha zona las cosas de a poco se volverán mas sospechosas y peligrosas en muchos sentidos.

Personal opinion / Opinión personal

There are certain details for which in particular I like this movie a little more, than those future movies of which I will review of this franchise, but they are very minimal aspects, obviously each film delivery has a touch or a slightly different direction and I say slightly, because the plot in most of these is very simple, it is constituted in rescuing Saori from some evil or very strong rival, and depends on his bronze saints to make the difference and it is not a bad thing, but it certainly becomes monotonous and in this movie is no exception, however I really like how it not only emphasizes it, but also explores and develops the plot in a very different environment and this is where it is introduced, an area with different warriors those who serve the god of war, wisdom and poetry Odin and certainly his saga in the anime if I liked the truth, it had elements that in my opinion were very striking and see how in essence transplanted that here I liked it a lot, so let's break down part by part this film.

Regarding the animation section, well here as I already mentioned even in my old post linked to the first Saint Seiya movie, for its time the animation is certainly not bad, it is quite retro but not visually uncomfortable, you can see in this movie that they put just a little more effort to the animation and coloring, not in a way so excessive or very outstanding but if you notice a very slight improvement at this point, It is not as if many years had passed to take into consideration this after the first movie was released, despite that personally I like some animated designs of the armor of those warriors of Odin's faction and their skills certainly some more than others, in this section I have no complaints, I feel that a good job was done for its time and there are certain fights of which if they shone with it, especially the last one against the villain of the day.

With respect to the plot section, as I mentioned several times the plot as far as it goes is quite simple, and I feel that this will be a pattern that I will repeat in future films at least until there is a significant change in any of them, however I really like the fact that in this particular film as well as the previous one has no elements of subplots, which sometimes annoys me a bit mainly when it is abused a lot of it, in this aspect is not the case, what is present in addition to the fighting and the variety of striking techniques and armor designs, is the environment as such in which they are but I will talk about that soon.

In relation to the setting the truth I have no complaints, I really liked that the events that unfolded as in this case in the area of Asgard, also that saga in the anime I liked the truth, either by the mythological variety, the area, the climate and the vision of the characters in general as somehow extrapolated that in this film seemed very good to me the truth. With the music as always this franchise even in these films show a great impact their melodies, have a significant and special touch in many ways going according to what happens at the time, and I feel it is one of the strengths of the franchise in general, as well as the voices of the people, it should be noted that this and future films that I will review later, I saw them in Japanese I like to see it in their native language and dubbing actors at this point did a great job, especially the villain on duty. Hay ciertos detalles por los cuales en lo particular esta película me gusta un poco más, que aquellas películas futuras de las cuales reseñare de esta franquicia, pero son aspectos muy mínimos, obviamente cada entrega cinematográfica tiene un toque o una dirección ligeramente diferente y digo ligeramente, porque la trama en la mayoría de todas estas es muy simple, se constituye en rescatar a Saori de algun mal o rival muy fuerte, y depende de sus santos de bronce para hacer la diferencia y no es algo malo, pero ciertamente se vuelve monótono y en esta película no es la excepción, sin embargo me gusta mucho como no solo se hace énfasis en ello, si no también se explora y se desarrolla dicha trama en un ambiente muy diferente y es aquí donde se introduce, una zona con guerreros diferentes aquellos que le sirven al dios de la guerra, sabiduría y poesía Odin y ciertamente su saga en el anime si me gusto bastante la verdad, tenia elementos que a mi parecer eran muy llamativos y ver como en esencia trasplantaron eso aquí me gusto bastante, así que desglosemos parte por parte esta película.

Con respecto al apartado de la animación, pues aquí como ya mencione incluso en mi antiguo post vinculado a la primera película de Saint Seiya, para su época la animación ciertamente no es mala, es bastante retro pero no llega a incomodar visualmente, se nota en esta película que le pusieron solo un poco mas de empeño a la animación y los coloreados, no de una manera tan desmedida o muy sobresaliente pero si se nota una muy ligera mejoría en este punto, tampoco no es como si hubieran pasado muchos años para tomar en consideración esto después de que salió su primera película, a pesar de eso en lo personal me gusta algunos diseños animados de las armaduras de aquellos guerreros de la facción de Odin así como sus habilidades ciertamente unos más que otros, en este apartado no tengo ningún tipo de quejas, siento que se hizo un buen trabajo para su época y hay ciertos combates de los cuales si se lucieron con ello, principalmente el ultimo contra el villano de turno.

Con respeto al apartado de la trama, como ya mencione varias veces la trama dentro de lo que cabe es bastante simple, y siento que esto será un patrón que repetiré en próximas películas al menos hasta que haya un cambio significativo en alguna de ellas, sin embargo me gusta mucho el hecho que en esta película en particular así como la anterior no tenga elementos de subtramas, cosa que a veces me llega a molestar un poco principalmente cuando se llega abusar mucho de ello, en este aspecto no viene siendo el caso, lo que sí está presente además de los combates y la variedad de técnicas llamativas y diseños de armaduras, es el amiente como tal en el que se encuentren pero eso ya lo hablare próximamente.

Con relación a la ambientación la verdad no tengo quejas, realmente me gusto que variara de ambiente los sucesos que se desenlazaron pues en este caso en la zona de Asgard, además dicha saga en el anime a mi me gusto bastante la verdad, ya sea por la variedad mitológica, la zona, el clima y la visión de sus personajes en general como de cierta forma se extrapola eso en esta película me pareció muy bueno la verdad. Con la música como siempre esta franquicia incluso en estas películas muestran un gran impacto sus melodías, tienen un toque significativo y especial en muchos sentidos yendo acorde a lo que ocurre al momento, y siento que es uno de los puntos fuertes de la franquicia en general, así como las voces de los personas, cabe aclarar que esta así como las futuras películas que reseñare luego, las vi en japonés me gusta más verlo en su idioma natal y los actores de doblajes en este punto hicieron un gran trabajo, en especial el del villano de turno.
