Violet Evergarden: A wonderful story of emotional self-discovery (2018) Review [Eng - Esp]

A few years ago my friend @jauregui98, recommended me to watch the anime that I will talk about today, although the visual aspect at first instance is beautiful, when I decided to investigate on my own about the characters in question of such a series, it did not call my attention but even with all that I decided to give it a try, and really the result at the time was the opposite to my first impression of slight rejection, I was completely in love with both the plot, the issues that addresses emotional level and of course the visual section, it was a series that really made me cry or at least drop a tear due to the tremendous load of emotions, both positive and negative and the situation of self-discovery by the passage of the protagonist of this series.

So I decided to watch it again, more than anything to recapitulate everything and to have the mind, a little more input before what I am going to expose on such series in question, and to see it again nothing changed even continues to impact me and giving me that same feeling that generated in me long ago. The reason why I did not talk about this anime in due time, was because I also wanted to talk about other things that I liked a lot or generated a feeling in me of many factors, but now it is time to give a significant importance and value to this series, so ladies and gentlemen this time I bring you the anime of Violet Evergarden.

Hace unos años atrás mi amigo @jauregui98, me recomendó que me viera el anime del cual les hablare el día de hoy, a pesar de que el aspecto visual a primera instancia es hermoso, cuando decidí investigar por mi cuenta sobre los personajes en cuestión de tal serie, no llamo tanto mi atención pero aun y con todo eso decidí darle una oportunidad, y realmente el resultado en su momento fue lo contrario ante mi primera impresión de leve rechazo, me quede completamente enamorado tanto de la trama, los temas que aborda a nivel emocional y claro el apartado visual, fue una serie que realmente me hizo llorar o a lo mínimo soltar una lagrima debido a la tremenda carga de emociones, tanto positivas como negativas y por la situación de auto descubrimiento por la que paso la protagonista de esta serie.

Así que decidí volver a verla, más que nada para recapitular todo y tener la mente, un poco mas entrada ante lo que voy a exponer sobre tal serie en cuestión, y al volver a verla nada cambio aun me sigue impactando y dando aquella misma sensación que genero en mi hace mucho tiempo atrás. La razón por la cual no hable de este anime en su debido momento, era porque quería hablar también de otras cosas que me gustaban mucho o generaban un sentimiento en mi de muchos factores, pero ahora viene siendo hora de darle una importancia y valor significativo a esta serie, así que damas y caballeros esta vez les traigo el anime de Violet Evergarden.

Violet Evergarden, comes being considered as a series of light novels from Japan, created by Kana Akatsuki eh illustrated by Akiko Takase, apparently such novels have been so receptive and significant, that won an award at the fifth installment of the Kyoto Animation Awards in the year of 2014, for the following 3 categories: novel, scenario and manga.

It was some time later that it was given the opportunity to provide an adaptation to such novel produced and carried out by the animation studio Kyoto Animation, for January 11, 2018 and ending its broadcast on April 5 of the same year in question counting with a total of 13 chapters and an ova.

Violet Evergarden, viene siendo considerada como una serie de novelas ligeras procedentes de Japón, creada por Kana Akatsuki eh ilustradas por Akiko Takase, al parecer tales noveles han sido tan receptivas y significativas, que ganaron un premio en la quinta entrega de los Kyoto Animation Awards en el año del 2014, por las siguientes 3 categorías: novela, escenario y manga.

Fue un tiempo después que se dio la oportunidad de brindarle una adaptación a tal novela producida y llevada a cabo por el estudio de animación Kyoto Animation, para el 11 de Enero del 2018 y finalizando su emisión el 5 de Abril del mismo año en cuestión contando con un total de 13 capítulos y un ova.

Synopsis / Sinopsis

The plot enters the life of Violet Evergarden, a young orphan girl who unfortunately since she was very young and in a time in which a cruel war was lived, a certain army decides to take her under their command, to use her as a tool for their tasks, except for her commander Gilbert Bougainvillea, who slowly opposes the treatment given to this girl by their senior officers, although he is in charge of her.

After certain tragic circumstances force them to separate and after the end of the war, Violete must adapt to the new times and undertake an introspective search on the word love and others, using her work as a means of trade, becoming an "Auto Memory Doll" which projects the thoughts, emotions and requests of people in letters and it is through this alien perception of her clients that will allow her to deepen her personal search.

La trama se entra en la vida de Violet Evergarden, una joven huérfana que lamentablemente desde muy pequeña y en un tiempo en el cual se vivió una cruel guerra, cierto ejército decide tomarla bajo su mando, para utilizarla como una herramienta para sus cometidos, excepto por su comandante Gilbert Bougainvillea, el cual se opone lentamente al trato que le dan a esta chica por sus altos directivos, aunque él está a cargo de ella.

Al pasar ciertas y trágicas circunstancias que les obligan a separarse y después de la culminación de la guerra, Violete debe adaptarse a los nuevos tiempos y emprender una búsqueda introspectiva sobre la palabra amor y otras, usando como medio de oficio su trabajo convirtiéndose en una "Auto Memory Doll" las cuáles proyectan los pensamientos emociones y peticiones de la gente en cartas y es a través, de esta percepción ajena de sus clientes lo que le permitirá profundizar su búsqueda personal.

Personal opinion / Opinión personal

I will try to be as objective as possible with this anime, because even though I had a good impression of it, I feel that it uses one of the most hackneyed concepts that can be presented in movies, television series, anime among other things and that is the concept of love, it is a theme that will be presented as a main focus but with the difference that it is approached from a lack of it by the protagonist, an aspect of which our protagonist does not have due to the sad life through which she has gone through, and I feel that it is an interesting background and something slightly different using as a premise the theme of love since Violete's soul is in a completely different time than the one she lives in, in her present time and this will be another strong point that shows the plot through her, the adventure of self-discovery before this unknown emotion for her while she tries to adapt and accept a different time than the one she already lived, which will cost her a little because she had to adapt and grow as a tool of war more than anything else, and she did not have the time to interact or know other things in her life other than duty.

Our protagonist described as a beautiful porcelain doll, which acts more like a machine with a very large lack of empathy, through her work as a writer is that she can gradually find out, through the requests of various customers gradually, a self-discovery and emotional questioning in various branches, branches of which will drive her to have a better understanding not only with what she begins to feel with the message to each request in the letters, if not with the interpretation of others with these people, which will serve as a means of help. They will be present through these characters a variety of situations too emotional some more than others showing very varied aspects, trying to capture through each letter and making each situation is certainly significant, see the growth that shows Violete makes us feel very loaded with emotions and feelings combined, perhaps some experience it to a greater or lesser extent than others, I recognize that there were chapters that if I stuck strong.

The visual section or animation in this case is a complete beauty in every sense of the word, it really is at a level more than different each photograph, each landscape, the game and modification of colors in various ways, everything that is integrated into it and in general, I really have no complaints about this part, I could say that it is a little above the animations by the Ufotable studio, but it is only a personal opinion.

In relation to the plot section and as I mentioned a moment ago, we will see an interesting development on several levels by Violete, because if the series focuses entirely on her experiences, I could say that some people who certainly have relevance for her will be present, and others who sadly will only be an extension for her to achieve her goal little by little, which I feel is a slight waste since it would have been interesting to know what happened with some of them after the interactions that Violete had with them, but there are few cases that are an exception, besides it will be seen how the concept of love will take weight in general, showing an interesting play between an innovative concept in some points but in others as a cliché personally.

However and in spite of everything, the occasions and moments through which Violete goes through will have a very strong emotional charge and will reach the viewer in some way or another which will make us feel empathy with the situation either to a lesser or greater degree, besides that the aspect of war in this case will be a certain constancy that will make us see some situations certainly realistic, and others not, but will take a relevant weight for the plot to what Violete lived in those days and other people.

And with this I end today's review, the truth is that an anime very full of emotions and interesting events linked to our protagonist, so I recommend it, as always thank you for coming and reading this far and I hope the reading has been to your liking without more to say, until next time.

Intentare ser lo más objetivo con este anime, ya que a pesar de que tuve una buena impresión del mismo, siento que se uso uno de los conceptos más trillados que se puede presentar en películas, series televisivas, animes entre otras cosas y es el concepto del amor, es un tema que se presentara como un foco principal pero con la diferencia de que se aborda desde una carencia del mismo por parte de la protagonista, un aspecto del cual nuestra protagonista no tiene debido a la triste vida por la cual ha pasado, y siento que es un trasfondo interesante y algo ligeramente diferente usando como premisa el tema del amor ya que el alma de Violete está en un tiempo completamente diferente al que se vive, en su actualidad y este será otro punto fuerte que muestra la trama a través de ella, la aventura por el auto descubrimiento ante esta emoción desconocida para ella mientras intenta adaptarse y aceptar un tiempo diferente al que ya vivió, cosa que le costara un poco debido a que se tuvo que adaptar y crecer como una herramienta de guerra más que nada, y no tuvo el tiempo como para interactuar o conocer otras cosas en su vida más que el deber.

Nuestra protagonista descrita como una hermosa muñeca de porcelana, la cual actúa mas como una maquina con una carencia de empatía muy grande, a través de su trabajo como escritora es que podrá averiguar de manera paulatina, por medio de las solicitudes de diversos clientes de a poco, un auto descubrimiento y cuestionamiento emocional en diversas ramas, ramas de las cuales la impulsaran a tener un mejor entendimiento no solo con lo que empieza a sentir con los mensaje ante cada petición en las cartas, si no con la interpretación ajena del mismo con esta personas, las cuáles servirán como un medio de ayuda. Estarán presente a través de estos personajes una variedad de situaciones demasiado emotivas algunas más que otras mostrando aspectos muy variados, intentando plasmarse a través de cada carta y haciendo que cada situación sea ciertamente significativa, ver el crecimiento que muestra Violete hace que nos sintamos muy cargados de emociones y sensaciones combinadas, quizás unos lo experimenten en mayor o menor grado que otros, yo reconozco que hubieron capítulos que si me pegaron fuerte.

El apartado visual o la animación en este caso es una completa belleza en todo el sentido de la palara, realmente está en un nivel mas que diferente cada fotografía, cada paisaje, el juego y modificación de los colores en varios sentidos, todo lo que esté integrado a ello y en general, realmente no tengo ningún tipo de quejas por esta parte, podría llegar a decir que está un poco por encima a animaciones por parte del estudio Ufotable, pero es solo una opinión personal.

Con relación al apartado de la trama y como bien mencione hace un momento, veremos un interesante desarrollo en varios niveles por parte de Violete, ya que si la serie se centrara en su totalidad ante sus vivencias, podría decir que estarán presentes algunas personas que ciertamente tienen relevancia para ella, y otros que tristemente serán solamente una extensión para que ella pueda lograr su cometido de a poco, lo cual siento que es un leve desperdicio ya que hubiera sido interesante, el saber lo ocurrido con alguno de ellos después de las interacciones que Violete tuvo con ellos mismos, pero son pocos casos que son una excepción, además de ello se verá como el concepto de amor tomara peso en general, mostrando una jugada interesante entre un concepto innovador en algunos puntos pero en otros como un cliché en lo personal.

Sin embargo y a pesar de todo, las ocasiones y momentos por los cuáles a traviesa Violete tendrán un carga muy fuerte a nivel emocional y llegarán de alguna u otra forma al espectador lo que hará que sintamos empatía con la situación ya sea en un menor o mayor grado, además de eso el aspecto de la guerra en este caso será una cierta constancia que nos hará ver algunas situaciones ciertamente realistas, y otras no, pero tomara un peso relevante para la trama ante lo que Violete vivió en esos días y otras personas.

Y con esto termino la reseña del día de hoy, la verdad es que un anime muy cargado de emociones y acontecimientos interesantes ligados a nuestra protagonista, así que se las recomiendo, como siempre gracias por llegar y leer hasta aquí y espero la lectura haya sido de su agrado sin más que decir, hasta la próxima ocasión.
